    Our next interview is from a lesser known figure from local sport, Dave York of Fenland Police FC. Dave has been associated with grassroots football for longer than some of our younger players have been alive and kindly spared the time to share his thoughts on the “beautiful game”.


    Raph: How long have you been managing Fenland Police on a Sunday morning?

    Dave: Fenland Police started life in the 1989/90 season, I took over running it a few months into that season and I have been Secretary ever since. I have managed the side for the vast majority of that time, but did hand over the match day management reins for the odd season here and there as my work / family commitments dictated.     Kenny Venters talks to PST about local football, amongst other things. Kenny last managed in the 2010/11 season, taking Powerleague to a respectable finish in the PDFL. Before that he was gaffer at Perkins Sports Reserves; seeing them to Combination Division, League Cup and Northants Cup glory, before Caterpillar sold off the land and folded the teams.
