Hi Mick, im afraid i dont know mate.
I know someone who isnt refereeing the Royal Oak vs Lord Westwood game on Sunday - I am elsewhere on Sunday (Bretton Park)
Well don't know who reffed the Oak v Lord Westwood game but I thought he was exellent. There were two official assistant ref's but one looked very dodgy, looked as though he might have had a bit of a night out on Saturday. I would also like to take this opportunity to deny the rumour that I was responsible for calling off The Westwood v Nags game the previous Sunday. Only the referee or groundsman can call a game off because of ground conditions. the ref asked my opinion and I said I didn't think it was playable. Troy agreed and the ref said no. I texted two of my players who were on their way and told them not to bother. No games were played at Bretton Park that morning that I know of. I have nothing to gain from calling matches off, I just want to see the season through. I hope this clears things up.
why should there have been a need for 2 assistant ref's for this game? it doesn't have any history of problems so dont really understand the need. is the psmfl suddenly swamped with officials? i dont think so.
i wonder how many games were played yesterday and had to be officiated by someone from one of the clubs due to no referee. i'm sure if there were any there was plenty of "cheat" accusations which usually happens in this situation. and i'm sure they'll be pleased to hear that 2 officials were being needlessly tied up elsewhere!

My apologies Michael i was misinformed bout the game.
Not only that jb they even roped the pitch off !!! Like you say there's never been any history between the 2 clubs and coxy even went out of his way 2 weeks ago to say the Oak were the benchmark of Sunday football, sounds like respect to me not controversy.
Perhaps my old mate Nick Tithead hasn't had a bit of publicity for a while and wants some attention, what a complete and utter self obsessed prat that bloke is.
Game was played in good spirit, a few 'filthy tackles' which I for one don't mind a bit of, and both teams did themselves proud for sportmanship, apart from some dodgy ripper lookalike running the line and stinking of Portugese beer.

powerleague will get a tatse of whats in store for them in the prem next season and i dont think they'll win that game at all. after all they've probably walked the poorest sunday morning division 1 of all time! i know a few of their lads and if they pull it off then fair play to them but the westwood practically conceded the league last weekend so the cup will be a priority for them.
