It is semi final weekend in the PFA Cup. Top 4 teams in prem contest the semis.

Netherton vs JNE
Lord Burghley vs Westwood

Two cracking games with a hopeful outcome of a local derby final!

Gotta say that I hear Mr A Swann is in charge of the Netherton vs JNE game, very strange seeing his links with Netherton and the controversey that surronds his latest dealing with us this year! Great mind games! Love it

Ah well, if we perform we win simple as! Hopefully Westwood boys and JNE boys show some constraint on Sat night to set up what would be the best final p'boro ever seen!! Maybe a lucozade like the posh boys>??:whs:

Sorry, but do not know any other fixtures, sean could you enlighten us!!

Well, the burghley boys are through. looking forward to the final. Hear that netherton have a tasty forward in harrison if he bothers to turn up. either way should be a good final.

Bob the Nob !! Whateva and fancy a wager on the league?? Say £50??

Netherton deserved to win and were better team! We made to many mistakes and left ourselves to much to do! Hope Netherton go on to win both cups as top lads and a top club with super rolly at the helm!!

As for next year, unlikely there will be a JNE team so Netherton might become the best sunday morning team in P'boro as proven by winning the league!! There a bit like Liverpool - a good cup team!!

Sorry rabbit, heard they swapped and we eventually had Alan Mutton who had a decent game!

JNE - where do you suspect that the majority of your players will go to . . . or do you envisage a few hanging up their (Sunday morning) boots?

Good question Mr Raph!!

Probably, most will not play as we all grown up together and had a good laugh winning and losing. And with the league on the demise as it most defnitely is, me and my colleagues are seeing getting up as a complete waste of time!! Not leagues fault just peoples perception and lack of commitment and with more people concentrating on other things this seems to be happening!!
For instance : When I first started playing most Sat players whether it P'boro prem or UCL used to play sunday mornings. This is definitely not the case anymore and this is seen in the teams that have dropped out. To name but a few -

PeterPan, Nags head/broadgate, Belmore, three horsehoes, Royal (scum) Oak ha ha, Woodston, northfields, mccains and many more!

dont know who neutral bob is but as far as league is concerned i think there is along way to go and think we lost contention with 3 league losses of 4-0 . cant see us going rest of league unbeaten . as even a draw aint good enough

good win on sunday though , got told we had spanked them in first half where we should of been 5-0 up , then i come to watch and i dont think we got out our half most of the game as we were put under pressure . good finish by our defender for there goal lol !

but yeah think were the liverpool of the season , but being in contention of 3 pots aint 2 bad a season i guess

jne just a couple of thoughts , maybe there folding because they dont like loosing ?... many teams as youngsters go around picking the best 11 when ther under 10's and never face the thought of loosing ... our club is based on if players want to play footy then we will try get them a game one way or another . so as youngsters we dont have all the best teams from the area , but its based on a good atmosphear and people who try hard .

and if thats not the case then its because most sunday teams are pub teams with the odd influx of youngsters so generally teams get older and have other resposibilitys and then fold . and sometimes its a combined effect of both .

I guess we are lucky that at EMAP/Bauer we always have 20 players signed and up for playing each week. Fair play a lot of us are mates, but I think that when you see the effort that is put in behind the scenes, even for a Sunday morning team, you feel like you want to give something back. Sean Hamill and Mick Belson are two people that a lot of other teams don't have. Maybe some of those JNE people could run another team or help out with the running of another side? (Or maybe they could just have a lie in!)

Fair assesment of the game Mr Seddon and hope you win all your cups! although can't believe you claiming it an OG. Maybe your right about teams giving up due to losing but i think it more due to costs and lack of people in the background who do all the donkey work!

Great Club with good tem spirit but gotta get things together on Saturdays! Move the club forward by going up this year??

cheers Rapha... it's a shame to see good teams folding, hopefully some of the players/managers etc will continue with other teams so we dont lose them altogether from the league?
I defo think we'll start to see new teams and good younger players coming through next season and the season after both in Sat and Sun footy, you just have to look at teams like Warboys, Eye, Whittlesey Res, PSL Res and 1sts etc that are blooding new younger lads and also fratelli, EMAP/Bauer, Thomas Cooks etc from Sundays doing the same - many more I've missed I'm sure!!
I predict a brighter future for Sat and Sundays going forward.... I HOPE !!

who are your young lads sean?

people like Karl, Kieran, Raph, Mick, Sid, Tom and of course myself hahahaha....
point was that I think they'll be a raft of younger players not many have heard about before, that will start breaking through and doing well on Sats and Sundays from many teams, not just ours hahaha, far from it, we have maybe just 2 or 3 that could progress currently.... James at Rovers a good example I guess!

Have to defend JNE, if they fold, a big If because Shaky has been saying this for at least the last three years, it won't be because they don't like losing! They have been in the Prem on Sundays for quite a few years, (as B.N.E.) for quite some time. Always enjoyed playing against them and had some classic games, Remember the 7-6 win for you Foggy. We were 6-0 down at half time against the wind, Jamie Graham had scored 5. We pulled it back to 6-6 and bloody Jamie went and scored another cracker. Pretty sure that we won a lot more than we lost against you but you always put a team out. Some great lads in your squad and also some great characters. These will be sorely missed. Any of you lads fancy a game with Bauer/Emap next season give me a bell and we'll give you a trial in the pre-season friendlies ha ha . (That is of course only if you fold) As for Sunday lads I saw the second half, fair summary Foggy you were indeed second best on the day. I certainly wouldn't bet against you for the league and knowing how hard Shaky works I hope you do it. As for Jon Harrison, he'll be there for the final, always been a big match player(absolute quality on his day)

ur again right jne , like u say maybe its my 2 points but also sorta forgott the one u mentioned , many clubs around here are run by 1 or 2 main men weather financial or just sheer effort which many players dont see the hardwork as they just show up at 10 am . this takes its toll over 4/5 years and if u dont have the structure underneath clubs fold . its important if club wants to survive they have fresh ideas from younger members who want there club to succeed . these members gradually take responsibility and therfore if someone is to walk away the club dont fold . no one person should be bigger than the club .

not sayin none/1/2/3 apply to specifically jne . i personnaly want them to stay and fight and come back stronger next year (winning the league is seen as most as bread and butter number 1 on the list!!! ) we have had some great matches even when i played all them years ago so would be a shame if they did fold. we all have off seasons where questions are asked. just think about how the club can move forward is shaky does leave at the end . i personally hopes he stays and if he doesnt that he leaves with the club intact .

p.s good luck to all the teams in the final run in to decide league and cups .
