Apologies for coming straight back off my holiday in militant mode, but I have received a few complaints with regards to the banal nature of the site in my absence.
If someone put up the "crimes" of Long Sutton, Ortonians, PSL & Woodlands and asked 100 strangers "which of these clubs was NOT thrown out of the PFA cup" then I would not imagine too many more than 0 would chose PSL - before Browny gets the ump think that the decision to replay that game was right - also think that the decision over Woodlands was even worse then ours.
Therefore despite my soft spot for Hotpoint I was not unhappy to see them have a fantastic 4-2 victory over Hotpoint in the Hunts Senior Cup QF - they now meet St Neots in the Semi whilst we play Needingworth who had an equally good result in beating St Ives on penalties after our routine 3-0 win over Hemingford.
Everyone seemed pretty content over the 3-3 Hotpoint & Ortonians game last week and appreciated the phone call Spec - good to see that there is a decent level of respect between the 2 clubs and that generaly the banter is accepted for what it is - harmless fun. Still a long way to go and whilst I have to accept the mantle of favourites we would still be no better than evens to be champions given the number of tough games we still have to face.
After 8 pints of Summer Lightning this post took 25 minutes to make - please feel free to either abuse me or heaven forbid come up with something remotely interesting yourselves.
Welcome back Tommy. I trust the holiday was relaxing!. This post was prepared after two glasses of red wine and a pizza and took a little over 30 seconds. Is that interesting enough?

so why should psl not be in the cup then tommy?
won the 1st game which was abandonded, all kick off because a leverington player decided to kick a psl player full in the head while he was laying on the floor (our fault yeah?) :mnn:
and won the replayed match????
get over it you broke the rules and so did the others who got the boot!
we have been punished in the past for mistakes as has others
anyway why should it bother you? your off next season to huntingdon aint you?
and hear that you will be stabbing ortonians in the back by taking the better players at ortons with you.
kind of remember you slating that league not long ago, the pboro league will be a much better one without a outspoken fool like you :mnn:

Maybe should be "Careless" rather than "Carefree" - assuming you have mastered the tricky art of reading, you might want to have another read through this and a couple of other posts in which I have quite clearly stated that I did NOT think PSL should have been thrown out?
Thanks for letting me know my plans for next year - again have made it clear that I have a League to try and win before even considering what I will be up to, and it certainly wont involve any back stabbing - please get over your petty jealousy of me and Ortonians as I think your life will benefit from a more positive approach all round.
Good work with the emoticons though which suggests an artistic side you should develop.

Much worse in fact and far more articulate. He appears to now be fantasising about being me which is something of a worry.
In his haste to abuse me, it is a shame that he missed the whole point of that part of the post, which was to highlight the poor treatment of the sides that have been thrown out of the competition, particularly Woodlands.
Interestingly Woodlands have not as far as I am aware been deducted any points in the league, and the lad has been playing all season as a suspended player hasn't he?

Carefree if you were a fish your mouth would be torn to shreds - stop jumping straight in - read what people post in full - take a deep breath - maybe read it again - then provide a measured and thoughful response.
Agree that Woodlands are a top team and would be a great asset to the Prem, (as Crowland have been this year and Parson Drove the year before) - a view I would have if managing in it or not.
If I did not think that Woodlands should be thrown out of the PFA Cup, I am hardly likely to think that they should have points deducted - point is whats the difference?
Tommy just to clarify the position regarding Woodlands. There is no doubt that the original suspension imposed on the player by the Cambs FA dating back to August 2004 was not served correctly. i.e placed on the FA database and therefore communicated to the various leagues etc. However the subsequent suspension dated 31st October 2005 was.
As the PFA do not have the power to over rule or not to recognise a County FA suspension it had no choice but to deem Woodlands guilty of fielding an ineligible player. However from a personal point of view I was surprised that the appeal went against the club. I wish to stress that the club only fielded the suspended playing in ONE game, the PFA tie whilst under suspension so any spectulation that points should be deducted is just total nonsense.
