:soo: Just to prove that there is quality football served up below the Prem (and even Div 1) today's Challenge Cup game between Coates and Thorney was a cracker. 3-3 after extra time Coates went on to win on penalties. Personally we feel we gave it away after being 3-1 up but the bigger picture says it was a great advert for Division 2. I'm sure my colleagues at Coates will join me in agreement that our first goal (Adie Bell) was one of the best you'll ever see at this level. A cracker.
Of course if y'all want to know more check out the match report on our website - www.thorneyfc.co.uk
Finally thanks to our hosts for their hospitality back at the Nags Head. I think that sets us up for two cracking league games.

Agreed. A proper cup game. Thought we were out of it at 3 - 1. And the first goal was something special from Thorney. Hopefully the league games will be equally as good. Look forward to reading the match report and thanks for coming back to the Nags Head, you'll be amazed how many teams travel by the door and don't bother coming in, so we appreciate that you went out of your way to 'chew over the fat' with us.

And your reward for the win is another home cracker with Wimblington Harriers.

Well thats a great challenge. I guess we will find out if we can compete at a higher level.

A mention to the referee, I thought he had a good game and contributed to a good cup tie.

And that is how it should be.

I thinkits good to here about the challenge cup! I know when we used to have the 6 league system that some leagues were tougher than others even if it was the lower league being tougher than the one above it, the cup gives the lower teams a chance to shine!
