Went down and watched the game today. Whittlesey lost 1-0 to what i thought was a very harsh penalty. Whittlesey tho only have themselves to blame for the loss as they had more than enough chances to win the game never mind draw in the second half.
Well done to Perkins but still think Whittlesey will have enough to win the league, but with all the fixtures piled up the boys certinally have a tough challange now to win it but its still i their own hands.

BOTN we have had a tough run of gamew which unfotubatley is only goint to get worse. ..... But make no excuses if we do not go on and win the league will be nothing less than a failure for the season. Expect us to get back to winning ways Friday in Cup and then the big game against Fletton saturday less than 24 hours later. Who knows what will happen but my personal view is the game shouldn't be getting played because Fletton called this fixture off against us with 1 and half hours notice for no side. Now we are being forced to play it in these circustances. So we may wobble back of the net but as long as we dont topple over we will be just fine. Thanks for your kind support.:kissin:

Seems a little harsh on you guys, like you are being punished for your good achievements.

Surely there's a ruling or should be against playing games within such a close amount of time.

Well atleast you no if you cancell the game with 1 and half hours notice due to not being able to raise a side No9 the league will do nothing. Made a rod for their own back there me thinks.!!As for fri what tim ko as im working till 8.30pm buddy.

Not so much of a wobble BOTN, the guys are just tired. It seems that the league want to reward us by doing so well in the competitions we entered :whs:- and their reward this week is to give us a rest until the final on Friday, followed by games on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Despite being against what I believe in, in terms of numbers of 1st team regulars playing for the Ressies, we decided it would help if we took advantage of the rule to bring in one or two first teamers, for the league games that is, however despite having four free Saturdays over the last two months of the season our first team now find themselves having to play on a Tuesday evening slap bang in the middle of our four games in seven days period - priceless!!!

we have been told that it comes with having a good season, and that we should just get on with it - and that we will do, but c'mon eight games in sixteen days - you couldnt dream it up :tpd:

8 games 16 days, no thanks, could you not postpone a couple, you will not have enough players for that, would need at least 2 squads to keep the pace up. good luck, I really do hope you win it especially sweet after that amount of games in such a short space of time.

Thanks for the thoughts Moe - we have been told that extending the league end finish date isn't an option, and to be fair it wouldn't be right to expect this of the other teams in the league to be honest - just dissapointed in so little thought has gone into sorting our remaining fixtures, and no I don't expect special treatment, after all we have brought this on ourselves, but just a bit more concern for our players would have been nice. After all it isnt every season you qualify for a County final, it would be nice to see the league recognise the fact that we have, and giving us a game just 48 hours before that final is hardly the recognition we would have expected :(

This without the logistics, which are a nightmare - apologies now for any opponents who get a whiff or two of a smelly kit :ndg: - gonna take me weeks to get my missus talking to me again after asking her to wash and dry our kit after our final on Friday ready for Saturday afternoon !!!!

dont want to pick holes in your post number 9 as it would seem you are more experianced than me in local football, but you have a cup final friday night (that you expect to win) and then the big game is saturday.

how can you come out with a statement like that when a vast majority of players will gladly play sat aftternoon and then sunday morning through out the season

Think the point is WH, its the number and frequency of games being played in a short space of time which is adding up the tiredness cumulatively - and of course we expect to win, as I guess do our opponents Deeping, otherwise wouldn't be any point turning up would there?

i was replying to ramsey comment on 2 games in 48 hours which is the same as sat afternoon and sunday morning.i feel for the players on the games and frequency ,the getting time of work and not seeing the family can be a big committment to make, and sometimes is a big test on squad strength, also the dangers of the league that i think you play in ,that if you have midweek games, teams may load there reserve teams with first teamers making life difficult at this time of the season

unfortunately mate league rules now allow reserve teams to "load" up with 1st teamers - personally I dont like the rule, and prefer to stick with the guys who have got us where we are, but its difficult with so many games to play - and yes I agree for the older players its also a bit of a strain on their families and anyone with young children, and of course you are right with regards to work commitments - and I do feel that the league could have helped a little by giving us a game tomorrow night for example so at the very least we play three rather than four a week.
