Not sure if there are cup games?
Is it to early to predict final positions?
Div 3 and 4 are looking very tight between 4 or 5 teams (top 2 in the 4th have played more than the others...)
Div 4 go with Limetree from Emap  (surprise package!)
Div 3 errr Parkside hold on from Thomas Cook.
Deeeping then Fratelli for me in the 2nd
Div 1.... what happened there then?
Prem... errrr go with Netherton to snatch it at the death from the Oak with Lord Westwood very close 3rd - that'll spark debate I'm sure!
This Sundays games... any thoughts / predictions of your own?
Jubilee North End v Woodview 4 - 2
Lord Westwood v Yaxley Horseshoes Fc 3 - 0
Nags Head Fc v Netherton 0 - 2
Div 1
Blue Boar Rangers v Nags Head Res Fc 5 -2
Div 2
Netherton Res v Werrington Rangers 2 - 2
Premier Decorators v Deeping Athletic 2 - 7
Sawtry v Farcet 1 - 1
Div 3
Perkins Engine Centre Fc v Fitzjohn Ingle 3 - 1
Werrington Village v Thomas Cook 0 - 3
Div 4
Angel Inn v Farcet Res 3 - 3
Fenland Police Fc v Emap Active 1 - 5
Halcyon Fc v The Brewery Tap Fc 2 - 2
Hampton Fc v Protelo Fc 4 - 1
Limetree Utr Res v Royal Mail Ayl 3 - 1
Back of the net, wishful thinking on the oak throwing it away mate, no disrespect to the 3 teams but if they can't beat Nags, Yaxley Horseshoes and Limetree (last 3 games I think !) then they don't deserve to be champs and Netherton would still need to win all their final games.
Pretty much sown up that one now, Division 1 was a shambles from the start, Nick Tithead needs to take responsibility for that one as I know of at least 2 teams good enough to compete in that league that were turned down last minute with applications to accomodate his favourites, although he will blame someone else.
The rest of the divisions will become clearer over the next 2 weeks.
Can't quite figure out your reasoning on this one back of the net, straight after tipping Netherton to pip Oak to the title you forecast they will lose to Nags this weekend! How does that work?
The leagues done and dusted, a far more interesting debate would be who is going to lift the cup.

errr sorry I honestly thought I had, and did mean to post Netherton to win 2 - 0 (I have changed it!!).
It's a neutral view to be honest, I've not watched many Sunday prem games but from recent results, Netherton certainly look an improving team. but if thats all the games left in the Prem then I guess it should be sown up already.... you never know though so i'll stick with my outsider prediction for no other reason than to spark debate and we all love the under-dog etc...
Div 1 is a total disgrace from what I can see, I cant say to much against Mr Titman and co as I run a sunday team and cant be arsed getting on the wrong side of them etc, but they really need to look at that and learn from it.
I was at the Pre-Season meetings where they said they;d turned down applications from teams and was shocked at the way they rushed past that comment and onto other business, most people were either half asleep or not interested in arguing the point further for fear of getting on their wrong side..... it was a case of them doing as they pleased and everyone nodding along with them - It was my 1st time at one of these and was soon told by another manager of a team 'to keep my head down if we wanted a quite season', shamefull really !
Div 4 has more teams in it and as such wont be decided till April (ish!).
Cheers for the vote of confidence back of the net but think oak are a solid bet for the league! We will def be going out to win all of our remaining games - have to play westwood twice so them 2 games cud decide who gets 2nd!
But can assure everybody that Nethertons main concern is a certain Northants Cup final.

Best of luck in the Final... where's it being played and when?
We're through to the 1/4's in the lower northants cup (we're a div 4 team!)
the league have given us the Focus pitch for it - 26th Feb.
Final date and venue still not confirmed.
I assume u play for Emap back of the net? The pitches at focus are good, where would u usaully play?

I manage the Emap team, play evey now and then if needed (getting a bit past it nowadays!).... we've managed to get a decent set of lads together recently and results have been good.
Home pitch is Bushfield...
anyone else have views on the Sunday leagues and finishing positions and/or predictions?
Where did all the Limetree lads go?? we got one and I hear Royal Mail got one or 2...

division one is a shambles . why dont the league make fewer division with say 11 teams in . then as usuall 2 teams from each league will fold leaving each league with 9 teams which means the league is not one or lost in the first weeks of football .
if the league starts with 9 teams in each league and 2 teams drop out than that leaves 7 teams with each team playing 12 league games . great season! as it is the prem league only has 14 hate to know what div one games finish on ? is it 10? or 8?

We have 12 in Div 4 and I gotta admit if we go up (long shot) I'll be sorry to leave it, because we get 22 league games plus cup games.. it makes a decent season and keeps us all involved every week!
If we were in Div 1, I'd think long and hard about re-joing next season.. Costs - Time - Effort etc wouldnt be worth 10 league games a season!
Why not have from the 44 teams remaining:
11 teams in 4 divisions?
Prem
1st
2nd
3rd
Arguments against may be that there's not enough decent teams to fill a prem league of 11... thats garbage, Powerleague and Deeping would do well there as would errrrr not sure but surely leagues of 11 are better than of 6?
Plus teams would improve with more games played.
It would make more sense to have fewer divisions with more teams in.
If you have between 10 to 12 teams per division it will be more entertaining. As a referee it would mean more meaningful games in March/April time as some of the games already have no real significant impact (and we're only half way through February)
If i was a player I dont think I could be bothered to sign for a team in Division 1 only to play 10 matches in a season.
I think 18/22 games would make for a more entertaining season whereby one or two defeats early on doesnt affect your chances of winning a title unlike the present set up.
On the quality side - Woodston on their day can be a match for anyone so could join Deeping and Powerleague in the Prem. Who knows what the AGM will provide us with in the summer!!

fratelli etc have ucl pplayers in . loads of good sides .
limetree have lost a squad of really good players this season and most of them said they left because they hardly had a game in the prem as they had so many sundays without a fixture.
also having less leagues and having more teams in each would stop teams of pot hunters (the shoes being a good example) walking a division far below their standard and ruining it for the genuine teams in that league.

All 5 divisions have good teams in them and I'm sure a half decent committee (maybe including several well informed managers - errr not me!) could create 4 leagues with 11 or so teams in that would work!
Yes a few teams would moan intially but that would die down.
I'd be in favour of it as would most teams be I reckon?
Surely it's down to us (the teams involved) to ensure our reps in the PSMFL get it right??? or is that unrealistic? only been doing this a while so it's just a thought!

Thats 5 mins worth of taking the tables as they stand.. slight changes if teams finish above others and should go up/down instead of others but something like that would be better surely?
Div 3 has 13 teams in but 1 or 2 would probly drop out anyway....
If any others drop out replace them with the team below them in the league and bump everyone else up!!! any new teams joining replace anyone that drops out and/or take a view on the quality of their side and promote if needed... Prem to 2nd could cope with 2 more teams if needed!
It's not rocket science!!!! teams in the current 1st div must be well gutted this year!
just a thought... but win - lose - on the
11 teams I think would be the maximum for a sunday morning league. Any more and it would start to be a real problem to play all the games.
Apart from the Combination division 3, it is going to be a real problem to get all the games played in the saturday leagues due to the high number of teams in each division.
The problem is worse on sundays due to bad weather affecting games more often than on saturdays. Also there are more cup competitions on a sunday. A good number of teams are in 4 competitions, with the rest in at least two. If you have a good cup run and a few weeks cancelled due to weather it starts to become a problem, even without more games.
I agree that bigger leagues make for a more entertaining season, but the reality of getting all the games played needs to be thought about. Possibly limiting teams to two cup competitions??

We're in Div 4 sunday mornings and there are 12 teams, was last year also..
We are through to the 1/4 final in the Northants cup and have managed to get our games in..
So what if we have to play into May etc ? our players wont mind! and the odd midweek game I would prefer to risking a league of 8, because if 1 or 2 drop out it becomes a farce.
A league of between 10 and 12 is Ideal I reckon for our level of footy taking into account cup games etc..
Yeah if one or 2 team go all the way in 4 cups then it gets tricky but not impossible - and good luck to any of them that can manage it.
anyway thats enough of my thoughts on it cause at the end of the day the PSMFL will do as they please and not what we may want.
any predicitons for scores this Sunday lads?
i believe netherton have a returning superstar who will more than likely play for their res's against werrington rangers so i'm predicting a comfortable win there!
Have Netherton ever had any superstars ?? Thought they were the ultimate team side
lol its a tongue in cheek comment spec
