Maybe it's because I am involved, but I think that our home game with Eynesbury next Saturday is going to be a real humdinger (no idea if that is right spelling!).

Eynesbury have some dangerous match winners in Ashley Favell, Brett Bellamy, Ben Lawrence, Jon Harrison & Jamie Graham and of course are the last side to beat us back in February.

For our part we are no mugs ourselves and have made a bright start to the season.

No doubt a lot of neutrals will be cheering for our visitors which is how I prefer it and can't wait to see how it is going to turn out

Strange goings on at PNS yesterday - not the 5-0 win against premier new boys Rothwell Corinthians, but the appalling behaviour of the 1st team after the game.

They will quickly destroy their reputation if they repeat their indecent act of all sitting around a table drinking together until 6.30 and then moving on elsewhere - even worse they are planning to go out next week after the tough looking Eynesbury game.

Don't worrry Foggy I will ensure this is nipped in the bud to allow you to continue to snipe away at your leisure!

Won wonders how Mr Cooper feels that many of his stars are turning out for Sun pm football!! Ian Edge, Mark Paul and Ant Thomas were all playing yest in sun pm tourney. This is supposedly the lesser of the leagues and full of drunken thugs!!!
What are ya thoughts guys will he be happy when he recieves the call his superstars are either injured or banned because of a silly incedent with a **** heed!!:batr:

Glad to hear tommy and good win and side looked decent and full of goals as well as keeping clean sheet, No snipeing from me just facts and maybe I hit a nerve and thats why they stayed - but good to see that they are supporting the club with some cash being put back in as it needs it to get where it wants to be and they have no real excuses!! Remember last year that everytime a night out planned be it for the res or first they lost - Don't wanna continue that trend!!

Fancy PNS to win Sat (hope they do) but will have to be on their guard as will be a good test especially for our midfied and defence who have been fortunate at times! And against Duane and best forward in the league Jamie they will need to playto their best!! Although Gibbo and Pauly aren't bad and will cause Eynesbury'ss weak defence problems !!

Should be a good crowd and a few there on sat for what looked a decent game til I sloped off with you being 2-0 up!

As for playing sundays when being paid! No harm but players gotta be true to themselves, Tommy and the club and if injured or advised not to play then they should not! Not sure that is the case at present and some lads are taking the P*SS out of Tommy, Vince and committee and all at PNS in what they are trying to achieve!!

Had to stick a comment in Tommy. Great result Saturday against higher league opposition. Lads are doing you and Mr. Flynn proud mate. However, it was really good to see the lads staying behind after the game, now all you have to do is get them to buy a drink and not just drink the free ones you won for Manager of the Month !! I played yesterday afternoon and was surprised to see some of the faces there, I thought somes teams had just brought in recruits win a bit of tin. I was then told Edgey and Paul were playing for Coopers, naively thinking this was Tommy's sunday afternoon team! (JK) To be fair Ant was sitting under an umbrella more often than not. We didnt get past first round, struggled with 10 men. Which team won?

11-09-2008, 06:18
No Foggy at training for about the 8th week on the trot - he does not need to make excuses anymore as we don't expect to see him there. He spends so much time on this site during the day, he has to catch up on his work during the evening would be the most believable. Certainly better than all this rubbish about training for a half-marathon. What training do you have to do - just unwrap it and eat it? (Ok I know it is called a Snickers now).

100% turn out as usual from Peterborough based first team squad at training and they were put through a short but punishing session ahead of Saturdays little get together

Have a few injury worries, but nothing too major and starting to look forward to it.

Admin
11-09-2008, 08:19
Yes, your session looked very well organised last night and is a good standard for other local clubs to aspire to. As discussed with Shay, representation in the local semi-pro league is poor from a city of Peterborough's size and all clubs should have the desire to progress to UCL.

JNE
11-09-2008, 08:55
Well Well Mr Cooper, finally on the site and yet no mention of the free drinks last week!!

Think you should check your stats as I believe I was there last week and the week before and have not missed many sessions at all! My Manager knows why I am currently not training and he is more than happy with it! - if you have any worries maybe you can come with me and see if you could lose a few more pounds (as I have) instead of those silly100m walks you go on about that do nothing!! Will be back in full swing at training after the 5th October where I will not miss a session from then on - except utd champ league games of course! ha ha

As for all at training as usual - Specifically remember Mark Paul missing session after session and some other players not being there - Karl harper, isn't he with you sat to warm the bench?? All other players turn up, otherwise they can not bleed you dry enough on at sat whilst showing little respect - Just ask kings Cliffe!!

Rant Over - Good Luck Sat!!

Big Bang project leader Dr Lyndon Evans has been forced to admit that yesterdays experiment in Geneva was not quite the roaring success, had at first been reported.

It would appear that the smashing of atoms together at high speed in a tunnel under the ground has resulted in the creation of a parallel universe, in which only Darren Fogg resides.

Dr Evans confessed to being shocked by this development, stating “We were confident that the only way this could happen was where an individual digested 3 Mars bars in an hour raising their blood sugar level to new levels and thus interfering with the time/space continuum, and surely no-one was going to do that”.

Dr Evans continued “We are sure that Mr Fogg, will be experiencing delusions of adequacy and memory loss believing they have trained every week, when they have only attended 3 sessions out of 16 and none since July 19th whilst believing someone called Mark Paul was never there, though he hadn’t missed training since August 7th...
They will also believe that standing at the side of the pitch in sandals for 20 minutes or having a rub down constitutes training and is getting them fit for performing a little better on a Saturday”

Reserve team manager Seamus Morgan is reported to be hopeful that Darren will re-emerge tomorrow somewhere near Long Buckby as watching games involving the 2nd richest club in Manchester are thought to be the best way to bring him back to Earth.

JNE
11-09-2008, 12:36
My apologies - Thought training meant just turning up and being there, did not know I had to run about for my £100 a week!

As a reserve team player if my manager is unhappy i'm sure he will speak to me but happy with performances and attitude as far as I am aware!

That new business of yours must be busy for you to write all that - And i'd check your stats again as I know I trained in August at least once and been to more than 3 (I think) - Credit crunch must be affecting your brain!! Or maybe it's your old age?? As per the Quote tomorrow - Friday! Wakey, Wakey Grandad!!

Tommy Trophy
12-09-2008, 07:00
Update from "Foggyland" - Doctors have warned that Darren maybe permanently affected by his time in a parrallel universe "Darren will be incapable of witty responses or co-ordinated communication" warned one, "Darren will think himself capable of running great distances despite his unweildy baulk" added another.

For both of Darren's friends out there who await his return (because he owes them money) please prepare yourself for the worst - Darren may be little more than a blabbering wreck when he re-emerges and not the highly intelligent and respected individual he has come to regard himself as.

Doctors concluded "Darren has endured a traumatic experience and has been well and truly battered on a website forum - only a complete fool would attempt to come back from that"

the reason im at eynesbury is because there are no teams locally interested in becoming a ucl side. so its a free pboro side playing the mega bucks pboro boys.

how many ucl div 1 clubs can get my side and not spend any money???

pns, huntingdon, rushen, daventry, sileby, kempston, chenecks, buckingham all have money to spend,
we come under the same banner as irchester, burton park, teams with no money so if we finish above any of the money clubs at the end of the season then we have done well.

for all those who are going to watch tomorrow your in for a real treat as we are 110% up for it!! weak defence???? pmsl.

Not sure I like this favourites tag, but we are 111% up for game, so have a slight advantage there!

Good for Al to comment that MOST teams in our division have decent budgets (you missed a couple off Al - Bugbrooke for one).

Gets a bit wearing when people put your success down to cash, when all it does is puts you on a level playing field with other ambitious clubs. As Al says any club that finishes above those with cash will have done very well.

Genuinely concerned about the game today - Mark Plummer at the ET brought up the sending off in February not me, and you will see in my programme notes that I do not try and hide behind that - we were beaten fair and square regardless of that.

Eynesbury have a number of exciting and dangerous players that means we will have to be on our guard. However we are not exactly struggling ourselves and have to approach this, as any game, with confidence.

Racing 252
13-09-2008, 16:52
Today was a good game to watch and Eynesbury were deserved winners I feel, not sure who said on here they had a weak defence because after watching the game you would of thought it was Eynesbury who had not conceaded a goal not PNS as I thought their back 4 was very average and could not handle Dwayne, Jaime or Abbas when he came on. Eynesbury did a good job of keeping Gibbo & Pauly quiet all game and just seemed up for it and wanted it more, where as PNS were flat and did not really create much all game. Must add I thought the ref & both lineman were terrible!!!

Ross
13-09-2008, 19:02
totally agree with the above although one thing I will add is Brett Bellamy was lucky to have not been sent off after the atrocious tackle he made after about 4 minutes. Didnt even get a talking to. He even got given the free kick. The officials didn't have the best game.

3-1 to Eynesbury.

carefree
13-09-2008, 19:49
its so funny how people see things from different sides of the fence. yes brett did step on blowett's shin pad but blowett came in studs raised while going into a slidding tackle, brett jumped over the intended studding and studded him instead. the ref saw the intent from bloweet first, which is why eynesbury got the free kick, i would have done the same but would have landed on him much harder. he who lives by the sword comes to mind!!

Ross
13-09-2008, 19:59
from what I saw from about 10 yards away Brett had no intention of playing the ball and went straight over the ball and studs first into the man. I must admit I didn't see a lot wrong with what the pns player did. In not being bias either. The fact that neither of them even got spoken to at least was shocking. Would have thought a yellow was the minimum in my book. Well done on the win though Al. It was obvious your boys wanted it more.

Tommy Enyesbury just didn't allow you to play Gibbo looked scared of Ben all game, Kingston didn't allow Pauly to get any space & Tyler swept up the rest!! Then up the other end Jamie & Dwayne made your defence look poor, the only way Plumber could stop them was kick them he was lucky to get away with a few of his tackles & challanges in the air!! Fair play to Al he set his team up well & from the start you could see they wanted it more & the result was thoughly deserved!! I'm sure the return match will be one to watch!!

14-09-2008, 07:48

Sat watching QPR v Southampton with the 2 skippers from yesterday Ben & Torch in the Horseshoes (Ben only lording victory twice a minute!)

Torch adamant that QPR would win so went in together with a 5 star bet. Watched the very strange game on Saturday and after 10 minutes said to whoever was in ear shot that PNS would win by 2 or 3 the way they started, must have been out of the game too long now because as soon as I said it PNS launced long ball after long ball (so many in fact that I thought Foggy had taken training the day before).
That was bread and butter to Ben and Sam who eat it up for fun, knocked the ball up to the front two and it was a question of when they would score.

Eynesbury fully deserved the win, they battled hard, wanted it more and obviously realised the p*** taking implications that would happen after well before PNS even realised what was going on.

David came out on top while Goliath needs to realise that just turning up isn't going to realise the lofty ambitions of the PNS commitee.
Al and Pat if you can somehow get into your players minds that you are playing PNS every week you will be right up there and it also says a lot as to why the Peterborough Prem is not as strong again.

My day was spoilt when only 1 cube of ice was available for my afternoon tipple, I promptly downed the drink and left the premises.

Re-visit possibilities 3/10

ps Mark Paul scored the goal from the spot for PNS and that was the only way it was going to happen as well

Not gonna say to much as I know Tommy was disappointed with the performance but will say congrats to Eynesbury and Al for a job well done with the P'boro young pretenders. Heard Jamie was top draw and spoke to Plumber last week about him but ifhe turns up in the right mood and wants to play then he is unstoppable!!

Gotta say that all this talk about money and stuff is starting to be abit annoying as PNS are trying their best to progress and how they do it is their choice, even if it is expensive!!

Hopefully they will bounce back but whitworths away is a hard place to go but I expect a reaction with possible changes? Especially with the reserves playing well and winning, some lads deserve a chance and at a cheaper cost!!

PNS Reserves got Eynesbury res tomorrow night so we will hopefully try and make amends for sat result and put things right!

P.S Can't believe Randall did not get megged and I have told Tommy before that Sam is top draw!!

Foggy i am sorry mate but i disagree there, any team that spends lots of dollar is always judge this way. If they lose then it will always be highlighted that they spent loads and couldnt win, oh and if they win its because they are buying success. Its a catch 22 situation but all the top teams are also treated like this, take chelsea for example no matter what happens the will have always bought there success in many peoles eyes. Its no different no matter what level you play at, at the end of the day one word sums it all up ENVY!!!

Have no idea where all of this mega bucks rubbish comes from either Foggy - you yourself said it is irritating and yet you bring it up again without any knowledge whatsoever about my personal or the clubs funding (which for the 1,000,000 time is the same as last season). Mind you as you have been off work sick with the squits it was only a matter of time before it found its way back out its normal point of exit.

And to say no money finds its way to the reserves is further rubbish - you are given money for travel, do not have to pay subs, so are fully funded and I stuck £200 of my personal money down to help towards getting the reserve players tracksuits last week despite going through the usual financial pain of starting up a new business.

And whilst putting you straight (again) agree that Whitworths away is a tough fixture which I shall bear in mind when we go there. I also think our home game with them Saturday will be difficult.

Tommy, if you think £5 petrol goes along way, let me know how much you use when you go Daventry. Long Buckby and Bugbrooke and see if it covers it! Thank You very much for the £200 much appreciated although I am prepared to pay for my own Tracksuit & T-shirt (without a logo).

Am not after money and play for the pleasure of being with my mates on a decent pitch (when we get a home game).

Too true Mr Flynn - too true.

JNE I shall be checking out your form, fitness and mileage myself this evening and the rest of your reserve team colleagues - as ever the door is always open to people standing out in the stiffs such as with Ali last season.

Good luck, though I think Eynesbury Reserves are as strong potentially as the first team and should make for a good game.

I now feel 2% better after seeing our reserves beat Eynesbury last night in the League Cup. Went 1-0 down before a penalty from Rossario pulled us level at half time and a quality winner from Darren Paling.

You have 1 or 2 decent youngsters there Al, though with a huge dollup of attitude!

Yeah a decent win and thoroughly deserved as again we missed numerous chances! Agree Tommy that they have a couple of decent players, the left back and centre midfielder spring to mind!

Good win and still undefeated although hard game sat against Deeping and unfortunately at a family wedding so have passed the Skipper armband to Harper to keep the run, team spirit and general good feeling going!!

Quick mention for Shay and Mark who are doing a great job!!

Foggy, has one of our lads been training/playing with your lads (ressies)?
I think Raph brought him along to training with you boys last week - Fernand is his name.... Just thought I'd ask to see how he got on etc...

our reserves do have a number of good players. mainly u18's who i do use now and then. left back is darren blackall who is coming back to fitness after injury and will be 1st team soon enough.

He's pretty good al! Lad in midfield called Blackie (i think) was decent also and had great feet and ability to go past players which I found out to my cost!

One gripe al - Showers were freezing!! But otherwise facilities and pitch in decent nick!

Sean, lad has been down but not been there as training for half marathon as prev said, heard he is half decent and hopefully he keeps coming and we can get him in the squad. Gotta say that he looked half decent on sunday when I saw him!

Al, Darren Blackall was the 7 in midfield not the left back - I checked the teamsheet with our Secretary Jim Canty at half-time to see who he was as had a bit about him, though a stroppy little sod as well. Very quick feet, bit of pace and will be decent when he fills out a bit.

Fair play to Seamus whose confidence knows no bounds, travelling as he did to Eynesbury without even bothering to take a keeper with him.

Al - you are right - you can get to Eynesbury in about 25 minutes at 100mph.

blackall does play wing back or left mid, he is a good player coming back from a leg injury. i ve not seen the moaning side of him but he will be back in the 1st team very soon.
