Appreciate that Ross...

Ok here's the deal lads, Eye Sports are to play a P'Boro Sports Talk XI on Saturday 16th May at Eye's ground.
Gino will obvioulsy take charge of the favourites with the stars from Eye and my good self (assisted by a volunteer or 2?) will field a PST team from volunteers off this site - mates etc.

Right - who fancies a crack at the Eye lads then? Register your interest here or PM me with you thoughts/plans to give the Eye boys a taste of defeat.....
It's a maximum of 2 lads from any given team, no regular Saturday Prem lads, Sunday lads welcome, UCL too if we can lol.

Who's up for it? or at least gimme some suggestions of lads to approach?

Great stuff a volunteer and banter from the Eye boys already, hahaha..

Shaun your names down mate, nice one.
This is the fairest way we'll do it - get as many as possible interested and then take a couple of senior (experienced) Sat and Sun lads aside to help me select the 11 with 3 subs...
Please feel free to post names/clubs of lads you think should be in a Peterborough select 11 (non Sat Prem) squad.

I'll have a bash sean mate , count me in mate , i got a few young lads who will have a game

Big G
12-03-2009, 21:55
Remember lads its about the crack and money for charity so lets keep it to that.

looking forward to a good game and for the record we will be massive underdogs. Sean you have the pick of the cream players from all the Sunday leagues and any player from our leagues below prem.

The best thing we can hope for is a fair ref, just think how much Bob Hope done for charity?

12-03-2009, 21:56
nice one Paul, sling me 2 names (can only have 2 from any 1 club) on a PM via here and I'll stick them on the list - if you know of anyone else outside of the Oundle set-up that I should go after then let me know also mate...

G I cant post all names as I get them because if we get more than 16 (I Hope we do get more) then when we select the squad and some dont make it, that aint really fair is it? I wouldn;t want to have my 'NON-SELECTION' broadcast on here..
I will post regular updates on clubs who are interested though...

So far we have Manea x 2 lads, Oundle Res 2 lads, Mr Harley, Bauer 2 lads....
Come on boys keep em coming... Harbs do me a favour, ask Jamie what he's doing on the 16th May lol..

12-03-2009, 22:10

So BOTN, you have the wholleee of the Peterborough scene to chose from(bar the prem and players that dont play Sundays).

Do you fancy your chances;)

Ill place a beer on it?

Obviously my Beer would go to charity(Big G)

If you want to approach any Coates lads BOTN, i believe the following are members of the site:

Lee Colbert - Centre Half
Craig Crofts - Centre Mid
Kev Gilbert - Right Mid
Liam Higgins - GK
Luke Mason - Centre Half

I have probably missed one or two but that should give you a few possibilities!!

I am not sure on what all of their usernames are but let me know if you want to contact them!!

May 2nd Season Finish - Coca-Cola League 1 & League 2 3rd Season Finish - Coca-Cola Championship 8th-17th Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off Semi-Finals 23rd Coca-Cola League 2 Play-Off Final (Wembley Stadium) 23rd Community Cup Final (Wembley Stadium) 24th Coca-Cola League 1 Play-Off Final (Wembley Stadium) 24th Community Cup Final (Wembley Stadium) 25th Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off Final (Wembley Stadium) 25th Community Cup Final (Wembley Stadium)

might be advisory to miss these dates out as i think clashing with a possible promotion clinching game or the playoffs with posh would see a lot of last minute drop outs. maybe a sunday would be a better day to do it on?

you'd also get more people down watching and spending money in the bar!

also Whitt res lads on here that are good players

assasin - Luke Quince Striker
Nails- Adam Moore Midfield
No9 - Micky Burch Striker or put him in defense as no one would ever run round that lol
Tin Tin- Matty Heron Midfeilder who also plays sun way me

Dave would you sound those boys out for me and see who's really up for it? If we can get 2 that are 100% interested then I'll defo put em down to play, the 2 best if possible lol...
seriously though, the 2 lads best up for the crack would be better, all about having a laugh this one.

Yea count me in for that please, this should be a good crack.

you'll have to PM me your name and club you play for mate? sorry I dont know it from your profile..
I'll put you down on the list... yes we have a list.
the plan is we'll pick the best 14 - 16 lads and that's not just the best players, it's a combi of that and those who are up for a laugh and gonna bring personalty, beer drinking and general banter to the party!

It's now I'll announce my number 2 in all of this... welcome aboard Bratts.... him and I will be sorting the PST select XI from here on in.

Gino.. how does it work with being registered on here.. I have 2 Manea lads (mates) and I think only 1 is currently registered on here, the other will do if it allows him to play, but I dont wanna cut out decent lads who are mates cause they aint on here - do we allow them, or negotiate them etc? gimme a shout yeah.

Sorry they must be members of Peterborough sports talk but if we both agree I will allow you 1 wild card that is not a member or does not meet the rules outside the Saturday prem?

If you and bratts agree we will both have a wild card choice?

In answer to them question just to remind people of the new updated rules, remember lads its all for fun...

1) Played anytime upto this season even if this is their first year.

2) As long as they have played at least half league games (outside prem) on sundays. Jamie has played over half sundays so players like him are fine.

3) 2 players is fair per team but willing to negotiate if players are needed nearer the time, I think thats fair?.

4) Both teams will have 1 wild card pick outside Saturday Prem

5) All players must be members of Peterboroughsportstalk at least 48 hours before kick off (unless agreed)

All our players will be registered for Eye sports, same rules as above apply to us.

BEZZA1980
14-03-2009, 08:12
Yeah i know, looking forward to it. Still think Sean should put his team up as they come in. He knows which players will definately be playing.

Be good to know, he could like announce 2 players and their position a week. That will nearly take you upto kick off date.

Big G
14-03-2009, 08:20
I have ask mate but he wont do it

Bratts
14-03-2009, 08:36

Back of the Net
14-03-2009, 09:12
1 wildcard is fine and makes it interesting for everyone watching and wondering who we'll come up with lol.

I honestly don't mind announcing on here who's expressed interest but I just dont think it's right to do it before we've had a chance to look and see who's up for it, we may end up with 20+ lads and have to cut a few, doing that on here aint really on to be fair...
We could perhaps announce the sqaud (minus wildcard) on a set date and Gino does the same?
If we get any 100% confirmed lads that we know 100% will be playing then if they're happy we will put up their names before then - fair enough?

So far we have 2 Manea, 2 SSPIO/Bauer, 2 Hampton and 2 Kings Cliffe lads showing firm interest, plus Mr Harley and a couple of others who I'm yet to get names/clubs from....
Anyone from Whittley Ress on here able to put the word out to them it'd be appreciated, those boys always seem up for the crack and they have some decent players too - ideal for this!

Yeah I've had em ringing me all last night, let em know we're sorted already will you and to stop calling me lol...

With Bratts all the way, it's all about having a good laugh before, during and after the game for this one, We do have a decent squad though and I'll be amazed if we get beat by more than 4 or 5 - depends on who else Gino drafts in though, Should be the main Eye team though really????

Jimmy and I could have gone after all sorts of players who on paper would take Eye to the cleaners, but as you can see from the squad, it's all about getting players in from mainly Div 1 Saturday and other lads who are up for the banter...

Dont be driving down to this one, get a lift, taxi - whatever... Beers, Cards, Pool etc after are a given!

Maybe it could be a yearly challenge of PST versus the PFA Challenge Cup Winners . . . a bit like a community/charity shield?

We'll get some good sponsorship for next year and bump up the money raised.

Well done to both sides and the managers too.

It was a good game played in great spirit, gino your boys passing game was great its a shame it didnt turn into anything when they got to the edge of our box. I think the turning point was the pen save HA HA HA HA!!!!.

Its was all about the crack for us, you boys got the (offside) goals to win and fair play. Enoyed it, before, during and after which is what its all about, Ryan Francis never could hit a barn door, never seen a goal hes scored hit the net he always walks it over the line. People should have taken note from Little Ollie, 40 yards, top corner which 8 keepers would never have stopped...

Sorry Gino, we'd have to start in Div 2 so couldn't possibly attract that sort of talent. Harley would never drop from the Prem ;)

we cant take the credit, the lads we put out there did the business without me n Jimmy having to say much to em at all...
I reckon the defence we had, wiith crofty in front of them would keep out all but the very best teams!
