Bit harsh Gino - Mark's only giving his opinion - and it was Ortonians he didn't like don't forget! (he always puts you up to win the league!)
And on Moulton, whilst they are in a real transition period I still think it would be a good result for you to go and get a win there and will go for a draw. Hampton to draw at Bells as well - another difficult place to go to.

:sosad: Little nothing man? Gino I just feel that you have started this season in a similar vein to the last two seasons. Inconsistantly! Not sure where the don't like Perkins tag comes from either? I don't particularly have any favourites except maybe Doddington, who I played for in the past. Anyway not many would argue with my prediction for Fletton. Scoring for fun at that moment and Long Sutton don't seem up to much. As for Alconbury they are due a good result after an awful start to the season. Good luck Gino at Moulton

Gino this is amateur football, moulton is a hard place to go and get a result, perhaps you should have waited to see if you get a result there and posted something like "you know your football then Mark".
Gets the point across without having to make a personal attack on somebody who has had a massive influence in building the profile on our wonderful Premier league.
And if he 'loved me' he would have put us down for a clean sheet unless he has seen the way we have been defending lately.

We did enjoy first while it lasted
Good game for the neutral I would have thought, vastly improved Long Sutton side played some good stuff at times, a touch unlucky not to get a point for their battling attitude against an under performing Fletton side, just glad of the 3 points in the end.

Didn't watch the game yesterday but apparently it was the best Moulton have played for a while, just unlucky Perkins were on the end of it.
Good luck with the rest of the season

Funny old week - did Hampton actualy play Stamford, and if so what was the score?

On the predictions, out of the 7 results we know correct predictions range from 2/7 to a best 4/7 (thats you Mr Chambers!!!!!)

Went to Arsenal v Middlesborough yesterday - really boring - Lazio v Palermo next week, then Ipswich v Sunderland, then Boston Red Sox v New York Yankees so can't add additional impartial comment for a little while.

Robbo thought that Fletton were a bit lucky yesterday and that the Long Sutton keeper was a real star in the making at 16.

Lucky - now there's a word i've been waiting for for 3 seasons, perhaps we've inherited the last minute fortune of that title winning side from last season, i'm happy with that.
I would have put it down to a bad day at the finishing school and certainly won't argue with the 16 year old keeper, what a prospect.

Nice one tommy cant remember using the word lucky but if that's your way of getting me on then well done . My view of the game was in the first 15 to 20 minutes the game could and should of been over. With some great runs down the left wing from that man bainsy ( what is he still doing in the p'boro prem ????)but the boys in the middle could not finish or more to the fact the young keeper made some great saves and was man of the match for me 16yr old keep an eye on this one.could of been 3 or 4 up after 20mins. Then the long Sutton boys woke up and got stuck in they really worked for each other . Key moments of the match big cock up by the old man at the back for fletton I think he's about 55 now gifted long Sutton with a goal . But the biggest cock up of the game was in fact by the ref who to me had a very poor game (for both teams)long Sutton was on the break ball over the top lino puts the flag up then fair play to him puts the flag down as the lad that received the ball was not offside the ref was up with play and should of played on and from that free kick fletton scored . On the hole good game long Sutton could of got a point but no more than that up and coming team if they can keep there players . On the 90mins fletton deserved the 3 points .

Hiya Tom - long time no speak, I'm fine how goes it with you mate?

Didnt get to Uppingham cos despite all my best intentions I am still running the reserves and to be truthful to you Tom I am loving it, got some cracking young lads who like to play football.

From speaking to the 1st team lads I believe that Uppingham were worth their win, and fair play to them - perhaps one or two of our boys got a bit complacent - Butts will soon sort that out!

When are we going to see you down the Manor then my friend, its high time I bought you a beer or two?

Im good ta Mick, i shall be at your place when Peterborough Sports come there mate.Im glad your doing well with the reserves Mick.Thats the future especially for a place like Whittlesey. You have to bring the youngsters on for the future of the club.Must admit i was shocked that the first team leaked 4 goals.Sports play them this week and after Perkins beat them the week before by a solitary goal i thought they might be difficult to beat.Look forward to seeing you soon mate until then take care.

Or should that be little nothing man. I think I got 5/8 as Hampton beat Stamford 5-2. The result was probably rang in late. Anyway what do I know. After all I predicted that Perkins would lose 2-3 and they went and lost 0-4. I must brush up my act!!!!!

Hello Mr Chambers, Hope your not gloating about your Perkins prediction!! that would not be very nice would it??

On the subject of Perkins I would like to know why the local animosity towards them as a club as everyone seems to be having great delight in putting them down when they lose or making silly statements like "money buys you nothing" quoted from some whittlesey idiot!!!

Now, I know for a fact that Gino and Alec have put a lot of hard work in together and they are building a club on and off the field that have the look of potential champions in the future. I do not remember Al or G coming out and saying that they will win it this year or they are the favourites but everyone seems to be quoting them as saying this.

What does seem to be happening is that the excellent squad they have put together is not performing anywhere near there capabilites and they are letting everyone down but especially the management and must take a look at themselves!! BUT -

The players will turn this around I have no doubt about this starting with a big game this week against Hampton. I also believe that Al/G will have a full squad to pick from for the very first time this season.

Come on give Perkins a break and do not judge them 6 games into the season. Give the Club a little more time to progress and get things right.

May I also take this opportunity to congratulate Hampton and PSL on there great starts, gonna be a good league this year!! Fletton not played anyone yet but are looking favourites!! Waiting for some Tommy odds!!

Fletton 5/2
Whittlesey 3/1
PSL 7/2
Hampton 6/1
Moulton 7/1
Perkins 8/1
Any price you want the rest?

Cham1
11-09-2006, 21:08
Not at all. I just quickly predicted the results. I do however feel that Perkins have been for two seasons very inconsistant and any visit to Moulton is and was in the case of Perkins last weekend difficult. I personally have no preference to any of the clubs in the league, except Doddington, who as I said before I played for during the 1980's when football was black and white.

Anybody would be stupid to write Perkins off.Dont forget they have virtually a new side and they will get it together.

Turns out it was a good week for all the home teams with only Hampton winning away and a lot of goals being scored.
Fletton are looking awesome seems Specs been true to his word. guess i wont be getting any free drinks

Cham1

Tom

I agree it is far too early to write anybody off, well the top sides anyway. Sure it will take time for any new side to gel. However the difference between a league winning side and one that misses out is one with the ability to pick up points when they are not playing well. As they say it is a marathon not a sprint. However it is a big game already for Perkins at the weekend as defeat to Hampton could see them 10 points adrift even at this early stage.

i think you are on a winding up mission jne as if you used this site you would no why teams are a bit against perkins, it was the fact that they have got a great squad together from other teams and on paper should easily be doing better then they have so far. as far as the whittlesey idiot thing goes thats all down to opionions. if its not a wind up then you will let us in on who you are

I hear Whittlesey were a littlel ucky to come away with three points on Saturday Blue Boys and had Tim Hudson to thank in the end.
Pinchbeck just have not started the season but PSl may finally collect some silverware if they continue in the same form all season instead of stopping aorund Xmas
Interesting game when they meet Fletton
