my view is the 3to one Tommy offers on Perkins is a strong bet. That group of players are outstanding at this level. Tommy Flynn is a massive asset for PSL too and this could be there year, maybe he will bring someone else in to help on the coaching side, but he is definitely getting much more out of what is also a quality bunch of players. Not yet seen Fletton play but obviously Mark Baines is a touch of class. Garry Butterworth at Whittlesey is a real winner and a class act at this level. All bodes well for a really strong league and tremendous banter! Who said Tommy C would be missed :soo:

I would definitely agree that Perkins had the lions share of possession during the game but i thought we all worked hard and battled well, which is what i have come to learn is second nature at Hampton. A great first goal from Andrew Bradley, top corner from about 25yds. We were scratching our heads for the 1st 15mins over how to combat their 3-4-3 formation. A fantastic save from our keeper from another A Bradley shot kept the game at 1-0. I then scored the best goal i will probably ever score. Half cleared header looped up into the air and i smashed a volley into the top corner from just inside the box, nearly taking Harbs' head off along the way! I was due a goal having 4 or 5 headers cleared off the line in the last few weeks but i never expected it to come from a wonder volley. Within a couple of minutes Glen Gilbert lobbed the keeper well from a ball over the top to take us in 2-1 at half time.
2nd half started fairly even until Harbs presented Turvey with a present to put us 3-1 up. Perkins' 3rd goal really pi**ed me off 'cos no one got in front of Ayres from a throw deep in our half, he did well to turn and fire across a low ball which A Bradley did well to convert from a tight angle.
Alot of pressure then came from perkins without many shots of worth until a 4 on 2 breakaway on 90mins (so i'm told) presented Vinny with a cool finish to put the game out of reach (or so we thought!!) A good individual goal from Nipper to reduce the arrears to 4-3 but we made it too easy for him as he walked past a couple of players before hitting a low drive. And then came the sucker punch. Some people told me between 5 and 8 mins into injury time. A very soft goal to conceed with Lee Davison glancing a header past the outcoming keeper which crept inside the far post.

So, a killer to draw 4-4 having been 4-2 up on 90mins but i feel a fair result in the end as we took our chances and battled well. Credit to Perkins for their never say die attitude. It's shaping up to be a great league this year!

Oh, and if any of the Perkins lads, especially Spratty and Harbs wanna come training on Tues night i'll be showing the Hampton boys how to strike the ball so you're all welcome to come along

Thanks mate. Great game played in the right spirit. Would've been harsh on both teams to lose.

It's a shame you're out of shot buddy, would've loved to have seen your reaction!

Look forward to our next game and best of luck for the season, hope you get a crack of the whip in your more favoured centre mid position. Also felt that Chris Kaye was much more comfrotable at wing back than centre half.

Honestly Mick he played centre mid so wasn't my responsibility but i did square a great ball to one of Hamptons strikers for their third goal.
