View Full Version : Mutual Consent !!!!!
Just read that Seb has left Oundle Town by 'mutual consent', now Oundle isn't my favourite club and this about sums them up, obviously sacked the fella and haven't the bo*****s to say so, mutual consent belongs in the professional game where all the bullsh*t is never to come out so the poor manager gets to keep his severance pay.
Oundle commitee you are in the amateur league of the Peterborough Prem, accept that's the highest (for the time being) you will ever play and get in the real world, get rid of that cheating lino/spongeman/commitee member whatever he is and we might start taking you seriously.
Mutual consent     in my opinion etc etc
Fair play spec!! Seb is a decent bloke and is not deserving of the treatment he recieved from both players and officials at oundle!!
Feel he maybe took a big job on with a club that finds it difficult to attract players as out of p'boro (bit like crowland situation) a bit early.
Good luck seb with whatever you decide do.
As Seb's missus, I can confirm you are spot on Spec. A 45 second phonecall last night asking him to resign was all Seb was worth after 2 and half years service to the Club.
The announcement today also suggests to me the paper knew Seb had 'mutually agreed to leave' before he did.....!
Bet you can't guess in a million years the reason he was given...
Seb will log on later and give you the low down....
Illusions of grandeur that lot, I think it was well known about the off-field problems but give the guy a chance to put it right first, they'll go like their pitch now all downhill.......

Seb has worked hard for Oundle under difficult circumstances where a lot of other people would have walked away.I believe the club would have folded a couple of years ago if it wasnt for him.All the best Seb whatever you choose to do.
Hi, it's Seb (my logon won't bl**dy work!).
Just wanted to set the record straight about the goings on at Oundle.
The Club called an emergency committee meeting last night (Tues), which I wasn't made aware of or invited to, where they discussed the first team start to the season and the three players who had left the Club. The Club came to the conclusion that it was best that i 'resigned' with immediate effect as they were 'worried i wouldn't be able to bring in any new players'.
Also, they were not happy they had to cancel a reserve game to provide me with 3 players for the Cup match (i had 5 players out and reserves had 8 out and were struggling to get a team out anyway). They said they did not want to cancel any more reserve games, therefore i had to resign.
The chairman, Alan Eden, during a call no longer than 45 seconds long, told me the Club wanted me to resign and thanked me for my time at the Club and said he would speak to me soon.
Last Thursday at training, the Chairman had a chat with me as he was not happy about the comments I had made in the ET after the Fletton 6-2 drubbing. He said this wasn't doing the club's reputation any good. I can't help but feel this was the final nail in my coffin, as not much was said to me on Saturday by the club!
As yet, I have not resigned and have not left by 'mutual consent'.
Two weeks before the season started it was clear the team was not gelling on the pitch, and regretably i did offer to resign. The Club rejected this telling me they wanted me to stay and said if i did leave, i would leave the Club right in the sh*t. I apologised the next day and said i would stay on until the end of the season and give my best, as always.
So, yesterday's proceedings has come as a big surprise and i am absolutely gutted, more at the way the whole thing has been handled than anything else.
In my time at the club as an unknown manager, I guided them to joint eighth and seventh in my first two seasons, something i am proud of, and i have definately moved the Club foward both on and off the pitch, as I was told countless times by the Club.
What has really pis*ed me off is that i have sacrificed time with my family, my 17-month old son, for the club on countless occasions, as many other managers do, and have been repaid by a kick in the teeth.
I definately want to stay involved in football but for the time being as an assistant manager or a coach as I want to stay involved in Saturday football, and have had a couple of offers tonight. Being Hunts U16's manager is keeping me busy for now.
I have no ill feeling towards Oundle Town and wish them the best for the future, as it has been a Club i really love ( Tommy C - that's why i celebrated my 2 goals against Fletton!!!).
Thanks to all those who have been supportive over the last couple of years, and to those i have pitted my wits against. Thanks also to all of the players i have managed in that time.
It's been a real pleasure!
Cheers, Seb
Fair play Seb for coming on and putting your point forward. As a friend of mine for many years i`ve heard the truth from Seb.
The way Oundle handled it was a disgrace and your better off without them mate. They seem to have forgotten the last few seasons and how well you`ve done. To tell you over a phone call makes them cowards. With player power the way it is, Managers are finding it very hard to get top players and i personally know how hard Seb has tried.
You are a top man so hold your head up high buddy. Best of luck whatever you do.
To do the dirty over the phone isnt on. Although i dont actually know you Seb, wish you the best in whatever you choose to do. Sounds like your better off without them matey.
Seb
Always found you to be a good bloke on the side lines, fair and played / managed Oundle in a way that you should be proud of. Mostly with a smile on your face, which is how it should be played at this level. Oundle comittee should hang thier heads in shame. It is always a little more difficult for teams outside Peterborough to attract players, we at Whittlesey suffer the same fate, (Not as though we want any at the moment, top of the league and all that!).
Good luck from all at Whittlesey.
Al
One of Whittlesey's Assistant managers.
Hi it's Seb.
Want to say I am not happy at all about the write-up in the ET tonight, and didn't even know it was going in. I want to apologise to everyone at Oundle Town.
I spoke to the Oundle Chairman for about half hour on Friday night, where we both agreed that all parties involved could have handled the situation better. As far as we are all concerned, things were resolved and everything was sorted. We wished each other well and that was it. Matter closed. We have all moved on.
I also apologise to all the other Prem Clubs who missed out on being able to read about their games because of the sh*t about me.
PSL beat Moulton and there isn't a word about it!
As far as I'm concerned the Oundle matter is closed and I don't want to be talking about it or reading about it anymore!!

The appoinment of Seb to Sports is a great move for the club. With Sebs coaching and managerial background is shows the club is moving in the right direction and all bodes well for the future of the club with Seb on board.Lets be honest Seb is a young man and has plenty of years in front of him so hopefully it will be good for the club just for continuity. Is there to many cooks i get asked, the simple answer is no.We work as a team and each person knows their job.I believe the club has moved forward this season and everyone involved with the club is working harder than ever to make the club consistant.Whether this brings success this season or another season, who knows.I have been in the game long enough not to take anything for granted. It takes hard work to manage a side but with the management team we have it certainly makes things easier sharing the work load.
not heard that one al, you must remember mate im not that popular in whittlesey at the mo, being a perkins man and all that. so im probaly the last to know any rumours about gary and his crew.
pleased there doing well though.

Hey Georgie you will always be welcome over here for a drink buddy - you know lifes too short for all that nonsense, and the good times will always outweigh the bad.
By the way dont you get sligtly worried being surrounded by some of the choccie jockeys that appear to be playing for some of the Peterborough teams lately

Hey Al, nah not an old pro thing just that the local rag is crap when it comes to reporting on the local soccer scene (ask Seb) and anyway there are enough sad gits involved in running the Whittlesey 1st team who will offer an opinion without Butts having to say anything!
