Had a few Robbo ! Boys did well, heavy pitch and a strong wind but we stuck to the game plan and it worked, few new signings as well so going in the right direction, if you need picking up while you are disabled give me a bell and I'll sort it out for you, called in the Oak last thing thought you might have been in there but you weren't, saw your brother who is better company than you anyway !!! Hope your recovery is on target mate, see you soon, ooohh just drawn Perkins in the cup, be able to see some old friends sooner than I thought.........

Great draw in the cup mate and what with Hampton Athletic V Whittlesey United and Parson Drove V Moulton Harrox some good games there.yes my brother would be better company than me at the moment I take it was Nick . I just keep going on about the good ol days when men were men when in the changing room we used to look in the mirror and growl wanting to get at the center back or on your first chance put the keeper in the back of the net lol. thats because you ugly oldies didn't have any girls on the side lines back then and could tell the difference between football and rugby :)

spec
09-10-2006, 13:05
Pretty girls were one thing that me and Robbo were never without Harbs but I was never seen  like this with one in front of my mates after a game !!!

Harbs
09-10-2006, 13:46
Thats in your opinion, and as your not as young as you used to be i will forgive you for thinking that i was doing anything more than buying her a drink and then talking to another player about the game. Maybe your eyes were decieving.

spec
09-10-2006, 14:55

I'm a lion mate.

anyways you looking forwards to a Perkins visit to your Kingdon?
Seems to have come round a lot sooner than planned. you worried??

spec
09-10-2006, 17:57
I am not the one who needs to be worried !! Mixture of emotions for me mate, got some good mates at Perkins who I am looking forward to having a drink with, but there are also a few who won't be invited into my little corner of the bar, and if my pink shirt doesn't turn up soon young man you may be one of them !!

Harbs
10-10-2006, 07:40
I'm working on it, im just trying to work out if it should be plain or if there needs to be some sort of design to match your skin tone... You can't rush these things.

JNE
10-10-2006, 10:22
Spec - Hope I am in that little corner or though can not see it being that little if me, you, Gino and Al in there!!

Looking forward to the game, always was very good games against hotpoint when I was playing for Ortonians and see no difference to that But after what has happened this year with you and certain players it has added just a little bit of spice!!

But no matter what we will have a drink together. :bub:

Back in Peterborough for the first time in 6 weeks on Saturday and see that there are 2 mouth watering clashes to choose from - something tells me that PSL v Whittlesey will be a bit of a game and not to be missed.

Having got 2 fence sitting predictions wrong a few weeks back, will go for a PSL win, and a Fletton one to go with it in the meeting of the nice clubs with Hampton, though I am less sure about that one.

Great PFA Cup draw Spec & Gino / Al - if its November 4th, I will be on my way back from Marakesch, on November 11th I am in Lyon watching France v the All Blacks rugby followed by FC Lyon in the French League in the evening, but I think it's on is on the 18th, so you will all get to enjoy my dubious company! - no prediction for that one yet.

JNE
11-10-2006, 12:26
Come on spec - Just drink something different to Bacardi/Coke and also do different things than get drunk every w/end like you

Might have a few that day with you no matter what the result

As for Mr Global Trophy!! A draw would be great!!

mr coops what game are we going to watch???

Tommy Trophy
12-10-2006, 16:37
We are taking in the title showdown Robbo between PSL & Whittlesey which I think will be a cracker - even turned down corporate entertainment at Reading v Chelsea with Mr Waller to come and watch so I hope it isn't a let down

Other games - wins for Perkins, Leverington & Alconbury from those I can remember.

Robbo, I don't suppose you are going to be ready for golf at the Ortonians day at Milton next Thursday? (glad you are having the plaster off - can't believe how much running around I have had to do for you!!!)

Foggy please return my call re above - Bainsey, Teddy & Mr Ayres, I will confirm more on Golf in next couple of days when I have spoken to Birdy.

PS on England - told you 3-5-2 was an easy system to play against - you use it in games you know you are likely to have a lot of possession in and likely to win - the opposition does not have 2 wide players who are going to push your wing backs back, and one of your midfielders links with the attack and one protects your back line - doh!

barwars
12-10-2006, 17:00
yeah that game sould b interesting to watch koey 2 strong sides guna be tuff one to call ?

Shut up spiderman and put your PREDICTIONS down.
people are taking Hampton seriously they are doing very well but all good things come to an end.
i have put them down for a draw away from home against a team scoring for fun. That will be a good result for them.

tom flynn
13-10-2006, 10:43
I think you will find its every other week with Spec, Spider man.Its his age ya know

spec
13-10-2006, 11:00
Thanks for the support guys but he's entitled to his opinion

Spider Man
13-10-2006, 11:38
Cheers Spec. You are a decent bloke who likes a drink win or lose as you always say. Just think Humpy has been about quite a bit and seems to put a bit more thought into his signings and selections than you do, though it hasn't done you too much harm. Your teams are always challenging at the top every year. Hampton have already played PSL, Alconbury, Perkins & Moulton and are still up there and deserve a bit more respect

Harbs
13-10-2006, 11:52
So just because a few people went for a draw and 1/2 peeps said Fletton win Hampton have received no respect.
Tough break.
They will get all the respect they deserve at the end of the season.
They have started off real well if they can keep it up for the whole season then im sure they will get plenty of positive mentions.
Spec bit tame for you everything ok, you thinking about that pink shirt??

spec
13-10-2006, 11:56
They have my utmost respect especially after knocking us out of the Hunts cup last year, as for signings and selections that is not always in the managers hands funny as it may sound, rather puzzled by the Humpys been about bit though, it what respect do you mean, football experience, level of football played, managers played for, women ??

Spider Man
13-10-2006, 12:13
Level of football played and managed really Spec (Yaxley etc.), and he has always been successful. On players I suppose it is about signing ones you can trust which by your own admission you have found difficult, Not sure about women where I think you are the clear winner.

spec
13-10-2006, 12:55
I am still a novice as a manager spiderman and that's exactly as I shall stay, do you know my cv as a player ?

barwars
13-10-2006, 12:57
does any body know who hykeham town are and what league they are in we got them in the lincs cup tommorow ?

spec
13-10-2006, 14:10
Crowland player then barwars !! Got your work cut out tomorrrow buddy I'm afraid, they play in the Lincs version of our prem and they won it last year mate, good luck though they might be a different side now

13-10-2006, 15:25
Looking forward to the game tomorrow Spec, good luck to you and your team, not too much tho 'cos i want us to win!!

Love your picture Mr Flynn, although you do look a little ticked off. Hope you're keeping well mate.

Appreciate the positive comments Spiderman. As Harbs touched on tho, it is where everyone finishes at the end of the season that counts. Would be a massive scalp for us if we can overcome Fletton tomorrow.

Spider Man
13-10-2006, 15:53
Spec, don't know much about your playing career, only that you were more of a Sunday player than Saturdays, though given your drinking don't know how! Think PSL will draw with Whittlesey, but looking at the picture of Mr Flynn he is not some one I would want to mess with. Is he really that tough or was he just having a bad day?

Ross
13-10-2006, 18:10
Thats Tommy on a good day

spec
14-10-2006, 05:30
More of a Sunday player than a saturday player :nono: as I said everyone's entitled to their opinion, unfortunately some offer it before doing their homework and make themselves look a ****.
Tommy's never been the same since he had that fixation with hammers and ladies of the night in the seventies
Hyypia, I will see you later young man, I have a new signing playing today that will keep you on your toes should be a good game and I am actually looking forward to it for once, perhaps its because I am pitting my wits against spidermans hero, cometh the hour ...........

jb
14-10-2006, 07:33
spiderman you have made yourself look like a right idiot! i think you'll find spec has done a bit better then yaxley as a player!

Tommy Trophy
14-10-2006, 09:47
I can vouch for Spec's playing ability, as a defender he was almost in my class. Paul.H was also a good player but as he was a forward you cant really compare the 2 - Spiderman, little bird tells me you are involved with Perkins (and not 59 or whatever it is you said you were) - you have had your fun - but are you now going to come clean?

spec
14-10-2006, 11:28
I had more natural ability than you Tommy ! Just didn't like training, did I tell you the time I marked Frank Stapleton out of the game in a reserve game at the cliff ...... :blh:  who wants to live in the past !!

spec
15-10-2006, 14:13
AFC Fletton 3 - Hampton 0

Bit quiet out there :mnn:

Tommy Trophy
15-10-2006, 16:15
Said from the outset that I think Hampton will finish 5-7, but they are looking like doing better then that. Parson Drove and Crowland have also had good first seasons in the prem last couple of years, but I think Hampton will probably go on and prove themselves to be a force in the long term.

On the playing front Spec, I read the game well, had a very good first touch, wasn't scared of putting my foot or head in and had a more than decent left foot, but agree you were more naturally gifted then me, and I was just lucky to have played where I did.

Funny how teams seem to play in the image of their manager through all levels of football, and I take it as a bizarre compliment when people telling me that they struggle to understand how Ortonians won all those trophies under me when the likes of Hotpoint were obviously better than us on paper.

tom flynn
16-10-2006, 06:58

spec
16-10-2006, 07:30
Perhaps you had players who wanted to learn Tommy where I had players who thought they knew it all already, fortunately now those players have gone off and bothered somebody else with their 'i'm the best player i have ever seen' syndrome, Hampton won't finish in the top 6 unless they change their attitude, smugness and arrogance cost them dear on Saturday in what was a very comfortable win for us, in fact if we had a big crowd that sang songs one of them would have been can we play you every week.

Spiderman you have had plenty of time to come on here and say you were wrong, you have chosen not to and will never be taken seriously again although I must thank you for inspiring me and my side, really enjoyed it this weekend and we all got p****d again !! :pty:

Spider Man
16-10-2006, 08:56
Hold my hands up Spec and well done. I was at your game Saturday and agree that Hampton were really poor, though you should learn to be a little less smug yourself when you win maybe. On the playing front still have you down as mainly a Sunday Morning player who also played for the odd Saturday side in the absence of anyone else coming on and saying any different. Seriously think that you look like a team who could win the league this year. Tommy, you were definately a Sunday player surely and it should be Tommy Lucky after the way you won your trophies last year.

atty!
16-10-2006, 09:46
hows winning all 6 of your last games to win league lucky?
from your shyness you were a div 5 sunday player :mnn: :

Spider Man
16-10-2006, 09:58
Last minute winners in games and winning games you should have lost. Try again Tommy as not involved in Perkins and I do know how old I am. Who cares who I am and how old anyway as just saying "wot I fink" which seems upset some people

spec
16-10-2006, 12:09
Doesn't upset me spiderman in the least, I enjoy the banter on here, can't see how you thought I was smug after our win, I was bored s******S in the second half, went on the pitch as I always do and shook hands with all the opposition and didn't celebrate remotely.
As for my Saturday playing levels you are always welcome to come round my house and see all my trophies, photo's etc etc, a very impressive collection may I say as well and see for yourself what I achieved, I have 285 of them and the lowest standard you will find is the PFA Challenge cup when I dropped down 6 levels of football one season to help my old mate Roger Daniels out for a year, now that is being smug !!!!!!!

JNE
16-10-2006, 12:18
Come on spec, stop biting. Good win Sat mate, Feel hamptons bubble may burst a bit now but no doubting great job humpy doing!!

We left it late on sat and not very convincing, fair play to uppingham who never gave up but we should have been better, but a win is a win!!

Come on spiderman, take that mask off, views not really appreciated or respected until people know who you areand can judge what seems to be little footy knowledge you have!! :soo:

spec
16-10-2006, 12:45
I am not biting Mr Fogg, enjoying is the word, although haven't got time at the moment for all this
