Whittlesey walked away from PSL with 3 points today and 27/30 is title winning form.
Strange game - Whittlesey normally fly out of the traps, but without Ricky Speechley they seemed subdued in the early stages, and PSL dominated the first half hour and deserved the lead given to them by Growler.
PSL just did not come out for the 2nd half and an equaliser was on the cards well before the bizarre way in which it came. Gary Nichols (top ref who overall had a good game) did blow his whistle just after the corner was taken for some reason, but it probably wasn't the best idea Randall has ever had to catch the ball. Not sure if he was sent off for that which would have been really harsh or for his verbal enquiry but Chippy just about squeezed the penalty in.
After that PSL actually played a bit better and I thought Rankin led the line really well, but despite Joe Duffy's urgings it was in midfield that PSL went missing when they were most needed and Mick Gale poked home the winner after another unconvincing piece of goalkeeping from the PSL lad.
A draw would probably have been fair, but PSL seemed to lack the self belief that they could win the game, which ultimately seperates the winners from the nearly men - maybe a bit harsh and I understand that at Moulton a couple of weeks ago PSL were outstanding, but if they are to win the league, they need to play as if they think they will.

Totally agree with your assessment of the match Tommy. Many congratulations to our opposition.Told the lads after the game that they have to learn to lose to enjoy winning.Hope we can bounce back in our next league game at Alconbury in 2 weeks.

nice report tommy, was spot on glad to actually getting round to scoring again the only bad thing was that al wasnt there to see it. after having a bit of banter with him all in jest. great to get the 3 points and with a third of the season down we have put ourselves in a good position but will still be taking the games 1 by 1.
does anyone know wether brett bellamy has found his way out of ashley moores pocket since the game on saturday?
More to the point did he get anything out of it

Sorry Tommy.F forgot to take the mickey about the PSL managerial set up as promised.
We were trying to work out what you call a collection of managers on the side, and settled on a "Gaggle". You must be the first team in Peterborough League history to operate a rotation system for the managers, with 1 of the 4 stepping down each week.
As your Assistant Assistant Assistant Manager Seb Hayes said though, you can't have enough experience on the side line, and your 1-2-1 line up seemed to work quite well - just a shame that your subs have nowhere to sit.
Good luck in the County Cup this week, and as with Perkins I expect you to win, though of course Tommy.F it is your turn to miss out on Saturday. (You can still have even money on going to WBA?)
Tommy you will find if you look it up! That the word Gaggle as you call for a collection of managers is a flock of geese or a crowd of woman. :stpd:

No Sh*t Jim - though without trying to incur the wrath of the mean and moody PSL Management team, does this mean I was right in the first place?
Watched PSL against Parson Drove not to sure about managers pecking order but if your the one who has to put down the flag and run on with a plastic bag to clear the Doggy Pooh whilst the others just stand their looking for low fly airplanes, you must be either pretty low down or very confident whatever you say in the dressing room goes.

Does anyone have any idea what Wils is on about?
He ruined Ortonians Reserves by sending them all to Netherton, made every injured player worse when he was physio and is now trying to ruin this website with his abstract comments
Well your last but one post said No s**t JIm. Well in the case Wils is referring to there was Al who had to briefly give up his job as linesman to clear up some that a local dog had deposited.. It worked though as PSL scored from the corner. Unfortunately despite being at the game I did not take a picture.

Great now his neighbour has joined in, who I thought had gone missing in in-action. Guys I know that the barbecue season is over, and you are both a bit gutted about having to throw away your last 16-pack happy shopper burgers, but don't bore the rest of us stupid in your desparete attempts to join in with the hip on-line community.
Going to watch the 2nd half of the Newcastle game, so if 2 words an hour Wills manages to get a response back by full time I will pick it up and respond immediately.
PS - please ignore this posting as it has been made under the influence of alcohol following the fantastic Old Ortonians Golf Day, where we had 21 participating teams at Milton and a very close result at the top which was great - Teddy and Ayrsey we won a prize (trophy), which Bainsey and I picked up on behalf of the Ortonians FC team !!!! ????
Bet the bar takings were enormous :alc:
Not another trophy Tommy. :lol
Looked a good day and good chatting about the old days, Shame uncle bulgaria did not turn up. He still sulking for some unknown reason

I'll try to mate, but it's difficult mate, know what I mean mate, anyone know where our trophies are by the way?
Spec, we played Golf, had a very nice meal with a choice of Ham or Beef, followed by sticke toffee pudding or apple pie and custard, a few drinks and a chat about the good old days, before home and a cocoa at around 6.30. Well done on the Glen Bolden acquisition who will push Matt for his place or be a decent 20 minute man - shame about the centre half you were after, as this could have been the final piece of the jigsaw, but no doubt you will keep looking as you seem to have re-discovered your enthusiasm.
Wils & Robbo change of plan for tommorow - couldn't give a monkeys really about Northants Cup, plus it is going to rain, so I think we should take in Oundle v Moulton and legend big Jan, the German Porn Star's first game in charge at Oundle
Shame about what centre half Thomas ?? I am sure Glen will be delighted with you saying he is a 20 minute man, and I am equally sure Young Leftly will be as delighted for you singling him out as though his place is under threat, nobody is guaranteed a place in our side and they all know it and the best part about that is they all accept it, happy days again in our camp which is probably why I am getting a bit of enthusiasm back, only a little bit we are getting there.
You, Wils and Robbo are more than welcome to join our bus party to Uppingham today, there is a bookies across the road from the pitch for you and a monster pub crawl on the way back, you probably won't take up the offer but the invite is there anyway.

The thing is spec is that i have to thank the tractor boy, the pain the big man inflicted on me at the end of last season because of fitness woke me up and now fletton will benefit and as for the matt comment thats just tommy bored and managerless. the main thing though spec is you cant let tommy and wils on that mini bus mate BORING GITS i still have nightmares from the one and only away trip i suffered with em last season and if it wasnt for beeneys safe hands on the backseat i would have jumped.
Talking of Beeney, now there's a thought, can he play at centre half ?

I would have thought that between Matt & Glen there is a decent 90 minutes - failing that once Lee Ayres has done messing about with the Silver Jubilee, it must be your turn to put up with him at some point this season. Matt would be delighted I am sure - bit worried about Matt's fitness now he has left the Royal Oak.
Centre Half has a Swiss number plate.
Thanks for the invite onto your coach, but you are right we won't be taking you up on it. Glen, you thought going to Needingworth was bad with Wils - I had to go all the way to Dereham with just me and him in the car for the rep game last year and poor old Robbo is going to Dublin for the weekend on his own with him.
Shouldn't have mentioned the pub bit should I :alc: Think you have been mis-informed on the centre half bit, give big Jan my regards, pity we won't be seeing him this season anymore, no come to think of it I'm glad actually, couldn't stomach that Oundle lot again :mnn:
come and watch us tommy u can see me dance :dncr
You don't need a lift to Oundle then Tommy wouldn't want you falling a sleep. As for Dublin at least Robb won't have to put with me playing with myself all night. never been sure if you're just over sexed or sleeping in a bed next to Robbo gets you excited. :mnn:
perkins think will win 2-1 today
did you get my message wills
1 , thanks spec for the invite would love to come but going away to corby with the oak tomorrow so don't think my leg would stand to mad trips away
2,Glen thanks for not including me in the BORING GITS bracket . All the best with your new club mate
3,can't wait to go to Guinness land with wils looking forward to drinking the black stuff just hope we get some tickets for the game if not will have to stay in the pub damn !!!
4, yes you are right wils. Tommy has a problem with his sex life next time I go away with him I' am taking a baseball bat to bed with me . I'll knock that cheesy grin of his face lol
