Ortonians on the last day of last season to win the league Al, but not many and good point well made.
Me and the rest of the "Last of the Summer Wine 3" (very good Spec) went to Moulton today - best game I have seen in the Peterborough League this year and most impressive performance from Moulton.
Moulton were better side in the first half, though they only had a left foot goal from Gav to show - 2nd half was more one sided and goals from Sinfield and Gav with the right foot were no more than they deserved.
Whittlesey were a touch disappointing, and unfortunately sunk in to "old Whittlesey" in the last 15 minutes losing some shape and a little bit of discipline. It's true that they were without Chippy, Butterworth, Ricky & Scott Lazenby but they also had players missing when I went to see them against PSL and won't win the league unless they can get a decent side out every week.
Have to say that though it is only an 8 team league this year, it is interesting, with no 1 dominant side. Could it be that as those top 8 take points off each other Hampton sneak away and win it? - biggest compliment to them is that they have to be taken as serious contenders now.

fair assesment and to be honest we was a little understrenth it happens and no excuses, needed to take what chances we had and had a goal dis allowed when jamie scored lino flagging someone else off side not interfering in my mind. was another couple of half chances but on the whole we got very streched. bit disapointed with the ref a few silly bookings. must put things right quickly

whittlesey had beaten them twice away in the last 4 seasons one win was a 4 or 5 one victory but thats the past need to look foward and get things back on track. looks as though its going to be a very close run thing
Perkins went there two seasons ago, went 1 nil down and won 7-1 with 11 players and no subs.
But that was then.
Best team we`ve played this season so far.
Hotpoint 2 out of 3 in the 3 seasons I have been there
