Good luck to the other 3 p'boro sides in the last 16 on sunday morning.
Hopefully all 4 teams can be in the last 8 and avoid each other, which is highly unlikely.

There's another Northants cup which is down to the last 32 and has several P'Boro sunday morning sides!

i hear fc raunds struggled to get past the limetree so it looks quite good for them-watched the final last year and i dont think netherton have a great deal to fear as the game is certainly winable for them.

Netherton won 2-1, goals from Gary Hawkins and David Old. not bad for a team with six center halfs in the team, two in midfield and another up front. :dsc:

Good luck in the semis

master tactition ron strikes again . ox up front !!! lol he brutilised them . hearin from the side lines from ther old midfielder who apparently manages somone called ford spors"for **** sake ref how many times is that larger lout going through our players"" as ox then ploughs through a centre half and brakes his toe . .

and hear this plummer no scotch or menesh , did we just dump out the holders with none of our recognised strikers? lol . oh well hoping for another crunching match next round

We had a good 9-1 win against Wellingborough Old Grammarians, which puts us into the last 16 of the Shield.

We (Artemis) also won in Northampton yesterday despite playing on a pitch that had one corner about 2 feet below the level of the rest of the pitch. Am pretty sure we were adjacent to Netherton's game. Good to see all our teams following the Posh example from New Year's Day!

If you were on the pitch next to us, did you see that kid spectator who went to kick the ball back to our game and slipped on his ass after going about 3 foot in the air!!!! I think he really hurt his ankle, which is obviously bad, but it was one of the funniest things I ever saw in local football! match abandoned for 5 mins, as both managers ran as fast as they could to physio the poor kid!
quality entertainment for a few mins though...but obviously hope nothing broken.

What date are Netherton playing in Corby?

the Northants Sunday Shield has just one Sunday morning team from P'boro left in it and they are drawn away at Corby on the 22nd Jan.
It's Emap I believe in the last 16.

All good stuff having Peterborough based teams left in the Northants cups!

Hairy

It is on the 5th Feb.

Hopefully both sides can come back from corby as winners.

Artemis manager deserves big pat on back for the way he has kept the side going through thick and thin over the last four seasons.
Be thoroughly deserving if he picked up some silverware
Good luck to you and the other teams in county cups

Mostly thin! One season saw just one draw and the rest were defeats! But he's stuck with it and there's some good spirit in the squad as well as some OK players (by Sunday afternoon standards!).

Well done to Netherton who won their Northants Cup match today. One of our saturday teams won through yesterday in the Northants Junior Cup (Peterborough Northern Star according to Radio Cambridgeshire)

Goes to show there is good quality football being played in the eastern reaches of the Northamptonshire FA boundaries

Well done Netherton... good luck in the final - against Raunds isn't it?
It'll be a tough one.
where's the game being played and when?

Emap won in Corby and are now through to the 1/4 finals as are Artemis, lets hope we can get an all P'boro final?
Emap drawn at home (I hear it may be played at Focus?) 26th Feb against a northampton team, Artemis same date travel to Kettering I think.

Good luck lads, always good to see our lads doing well in these cups!

Good right down the middle Hairy, get the ball wide to Kingston and he'll have a field day, keepers a bit wafty and the 2 wing backs are lazy, I think you've got a great chance mate, good luck.

Watched Raunds against the Oak, and they would only be slight favourites in my book.

Very square and not particularly good in the air at the back. They play 4-4-2 and full backs not great especially the right back. Keeper ok, though he dropped a howler from a weak shot from the edge of the area.

Steady in midfield, and a guy with a pony tail sits in the centre circle and plays it simple. 2 wide midfield players no better than average.

They play split forwards and there best player by a mile was the smaller of the forwards who drops off quite a bit and was top draw.

Oak should have been about 3 or 4 up at half time, but in the 2nd half played poorly without much enthusiasm and were well beat in the end. Good side but definately beatable.

Not sure who out of me and Spec is suffering from the more advanced stages of senial dementure, but I think that the wing backs looked lazy because they were full backs!

Just remembered the left back was a big ginger haired lad who kicked everything that moved.

Please get Ron to do his diagrams etc. in soft form so that they can be downloaded somewhere - I might learn something!

Rocket Ron hope you found the info on your Northants Cup Final opponents useful the other night, naturally I assume you read the disclaimer as I haven't got a clue what I am talking about most of the time as Matt Leftley will testify!

Loved your passionate speech in front of the League guys Wednesday night, though "if we keep making the same mistake on team sheets could someone tell us sooner please" might have covered it!

Using words like "expeditiously" threw the whole room. (you had a bang on point by the way).

Not sure what the final score was this morning, but Westwood appeared to be finishing the stronger when I left at 1-1.

Poor old Netherton appear to be losing players at a rate of more than 1 a game, though I have to say that Matt Seddon didn't look too injured when I saw him tucking away a burger at the Mcdonalds drive through in Bretton this morning.

Cheers ER Keeper.. fair play to you lads, played well and a good game all round, gotta say your save in the 1st half from our Centre Backs header was the best I've seen this season - top drawer!
I did think we shaded it and a fair result in the end.... good luck in your league.
Emap through to the last 4...
What about Artemis (sunday Pm P'boro)?

Anyone else got any Sunday scores??
Fratelli were playing down at Chestnut Ave at the same time but I didn't get a chance to see the result..

A good 3-1 win in the end, although westood definately shaded the second half....

think the jubilee boys enojoyed General Lee's 15 minute cameo and goal!

Well done to the Emap lads - good to see peterborough sides in the latter stages of most county cups.

Would have to agree with matt on yesterdays game - thought westwood had the better second half but the lads dug in well and the forwards took their chances. Hopefully our injury list will shorten in the coming weeks.
