Guys, I'm after a bit of feedback from you.
I'm currently at my wits end with this forum software. I'm seeing no end of errors, stuff that doesn't ultimately affect you guys, but in the long run could cause me major headaches if it continues. This is down to bugs in the software. Basically due to the nature of the errors, I run the risk of losing everything and having to start fresh, which I'd really rather not do.

Are you guys having any problems with the site? If so, what problems are you having?

Reason i ask is, I don't want to keep paying for software that's full of bugs.
I've found some new software that has got rave reviews, that I'm tempted to move across to, but won't do so if you guys dont want it.

Can you guys let me know your thoughts on this? Either drop me a PM, email or reply in here
Thanks

If in the long run it's for the greater good and your not going to have to fork out too much ( as i know it can cost ) i'd say go for the new stuff.

Haven't had any problems Ross, but its really down to you and having software you are happy with - you do a great job and will always have my support mate

This site used to use phpBB. UCL chat uses proboards, which is free software and from a personal point of view, I hate them both.
vBulletin (current software) used to be the leaders in forum software, and judging by the errors I'm receiving, they are no longer so. After reading recent posts on vB's own forum, a lot of people are jumping ship and to be honest I don't blame them.
I really don't want to make more changes, but I may not be left with much choice due to the risk of losing everything, and starting from scratch.

well i vote change Ross.
especially in the long run if it prevents further problems or potentially losing the history!

Update: Things are still no better my end, but vB have released a software update that I'm hoping will fix the bugs. I'll be performing the upgrade over the weekend. If this doesn't work then I'll be left with no choice but to change software.

I'll keep you posted

will it mean losing the arcade and all the high scores? a fresh start for everyone eh? all them years of posts and memories gone lol. i agree with you ross over proboard, unlike on here all they seem to do is attack and slate any and everything posters do. must be due to northampton doughnuts .
