lord westwood have only p[layed 2 league games, looks like cherry tree are the next to fold, they failed to turn up today and let no one know. could now be a 12 game season. what a waste of time.:conf:
Pleased to see carefree is on his normal downer (Did Huntingdon get beaten on Sat - not that I care), perhaps he is part of the problem as a lot of managers in his upper atmosphere frown upon "their" players playing Sundays with their mates leaving teams short of players who then drop their teams in the sh**e and they have to fold. Let him who is without fault speak up and do something about it, or shut thy mouth and let us at least try to do something about it
I think that a fair few Huntingdon players play in the PSMFL? Pretty sure Al is the chairman of Westwood too?

correct raph. psml, it took you a long time to reply to that, about as quick as the league is exciting at the mo, but hey the truth hurts right? but i also know that it isnt your fault, so dont bite bite or spit your dummy, i was stating what looks to be a fact and not having a pop at all the guys that try and keep it going. the show piece of sunday morning football reduced to only 14 games, thats if all finish the season, deeping are folding next season too. dont get how me being on a downer or not proves my statements wrong mate, nothing down about huntingdon at all mate, had quite a few lads leave for bumper pay days so i had to re build, got nothing in october and rightly so, played well the last 3 games and now we have a decent very young side, mainly 19 and younger plus 70% huntingdon lads, all my pboro based players play sunday morning football with my blessing.
Not stating that Huntingdon are to blame, perhaps Al is whiter than white but there are many others who frown upon their players playing sundays, the Gibbs boys always seem to get out to play for L Tree (good for them) but there are some excellent players standing on the touchline who would love a run out but "big brother" says NO.
The reason it takes me so long to answer is the PSMFL doesn 't run itself, there are a lot of people who work hard to keep it running, I'm proud to be one of them, but if you ain't got time to help run it don't waste time running it down.

It is a difficult one and now I am this side of the fence I probably have a different view than I would have had once upon a time.
So from a UCL perspective if you are paying someone a decent wage to give their all for you and have games on a Saturday and a Tuesday then playing 90 minutes on a Sunday morning (and probably not warming up properly) is not really something you are going to be too chuffed about. Like me, Plums would rather these guys did not play, but as they are not under contract we can't insist - though it could make it easy to leave someone out on a Tuesday night! Bottom line is it is not really a good thing for a UCL player unless he has not had a lot of pitch time or is coming back from an injury.

Totally agree with you, Tommy, but there is still another, much deeper reason, the Club Managers still have a blind spot about.
Smith plays for a UCL Prem, or PDFL Prem Club. Disciplinary in these Leagues is based upon the "Matchday Suspension" Menus eg Smith plays for a PSMFL Div Club as well as a UCL Prem Club.
Sat he is sent off for Violent conduct and gets a 3 match ban.
Sun he is sent off the the same offence playing for a SMFL Club, and achieves a min 42 day ban.
His Sat Club ain't a happy bunch, and neither is the players wallet- if in fact, such players are paid.
End of.

there you go again psml, spitting your dummy again and having a snide dig at me. i spend more time in local football then you know matey, i have also given plenty of time and money (£1,000's) to local footy such as lord westwood, also 3 sons that all play u18's to junior footy, fund raising, chasing players, it goes on and on. people like you just think that if someone states what is true that we aint doing nothing. last post on this as i ve made it clear that the psml prem is pants! and its seems to have a big baby on the committe too.
I wasn't asking you to do anything, just let us do our thing. It's hard enough without your talking us down. I think I may have been in football a few years longer than you, but I don't wish to denegrate anyone who does their thing and keeps the game alive, but we do it for relatively nothing and we don't get paid on results, we just enjoy it, and hopefully you do to.
NJT - It is not our fault the player gets sent off, we have referees now at 99.9% of the Sunday morning games, a bit better than in your days on this committee (no fault of yours). Are you claiming that the refs are more liable to send off players in PSMFL or just players think they can ge away with more and "push the envelope"
At the end of the day (as I can testify with my past record) if you act like a muppet and get sent off, then it's your fault and nobody elses. If you are liable to put yourself in such a position, then don't play two days a week or get some counselling/anger management classes!

My comments, "PSMFL whoever you are..why do people not put their names on this site?)" bears no direct reflection upon the RSMFL at all. It is a statement of fact nationally that Sunday Adult football is failing, and the proven core reasons are, in no particular order, cost, lack of volunteers to run clubs, and the new disciplinary code affecting players from Saturday Level 7 upwards.
I will not even deign to respond to your pathetic dig re referee manning of matches: suffice to say there ain't many matches now needing referees, and the PSMFL, like many other Sunday leagues, are quite happy for anyone to officiate!
