No-one got anything to say this week?

I think looking at the results this week there wasnt too much that was unexpected, maybe a slight upset with the Langtoft vs Doddington game.

Any news anyone then?

are you surprised tho bud? Sparky was on giving it the "were going to do well now we have new players and we won a game" we tried to tell him regardless of that there are still some top teams which didnt seem to phase his confidence then, as we predicted Manea showed just how good they are.
as you said all the other results were predicted... although Raph may feel they were just as much favorites to beat eye as eye were castor?

I believe the langtoft win was due to my playing in goal and pulling off two wonder saves

Any thoughts on the result on Sunday morning JB? !!

yeah we were shocking and our keeper had a mare which none of us are particularly bothered about as he's been excellent for us since he signed and everyone is entitled to an off day. just a shame when a keeper has a bad day as its usually costly whereas an outfield player normally gets away with a couple of mistakes, having said that he still pulled off a couple of good saves.

still 1st name on the team sheet IMO.

oh and i wont mention my screamer! :-)

JB - I thought your keeper played well, he dropped 1 but was under pressure from our left winger at the time and he ended up scoring, and you're right he did make 1 or 2 really good saves that kept you in it when we were locked at 3-3...
Cracking game to watch and be a part off, bullet header sealing the win in the dying seconds.... should make for a decent replay at our place in the new year!
Richie was telling me how many you'd beat us by on Saturday - it was nice to prove him wrong...
I thought Tommy Flynn reffed it really well by the way, another ref may have dished a few cards as a few tackles rained in, but it was just both sides showing how much it meant to them - a good advert for Sunday football I thought, but then again I would say that seeing as we won I suppose....

Shouldn't this all be on Sunday Morning? Well done Mr. Flynn first class, JB I thought you meant your shot, seen you do that before but then Karl Down scored for us and you should have been marking him, methinks he may have been slightly too quick for you. Added bonus I managed to avoid smacking my head on dug out for a change.

if that was the 1st half he probably was too quick as you may have noticed i legged it to the toilet at half time as i needed a poo! :-) tommy you i'm too greedy for that not to have been a cross!

1st goal was well offside but rich was still getting some layers on to run the line and was still getting dressed!(would've thought the ref would've checked both lino's were ready but hey thats sunday morning football for you and the refs do usually struggle :-D)

good game and a draw would've been a fair result but we were punished for some silly mistakes which we have got away with so far this season.

funniest quote of the day was when we equalised through me shak and lee deene combining and i turned to roger and said it was an "alconbury goal" then a few minutes later we conceded again after some crap team defending and roger shouted at me "that was alconbury defending!"

It was 2nd half JB, you were left trailing in Karls wake as he pelted forward, he's a real quick lad so no shame in it at all, cross came in and he pressured your keeper into an error and headed home..

At times the 'Alconbury connection' looked sharp and you certainly tested our lads, defensively both teams could have been better but we lost our keeper 5 mins into the 2nd half from that harsh challenge Starky made on him, conceded 2 more that I reckon he would have saved if he was on the pitch!
Anyhow mate, we're looking forward to another tough game in the replay!

cant remember(funny that! :-D)

starkey's challenge was funny. didn't look like he hardly touched the keeper from where we were but couldn't help laughing at how late starkey flew into the air!

Sorry Sean,I personally didn't think Starks challenge was harsh, if our centre forward hadn't gone in like that he would have had a bollocking. I think Ads landed awkwardly on his knee. I think we scored three goals from crosses, does that mean Alconbury can't defend crosses JB. Don't know about first goal being offside, we kicked off early and I did a Ferguson and didn't see it.You could argue a draw might have been fair but after losing our keeper quite early in second half and going behind Our lads did us proud.PS what the hell was I doing running the line for Scarletts for a few minutes ?Look forward to the next match lads.
