Hotpoint have a big chance off going on to win the league this year , but think my come unstuck as have heard a few rummors off players not happy at being left out or playing out of position. Hope this does not happen but does any one agree with me on this .

That's a bit of mischief making Bakersman. (are you in the fire brigade?)
EVERY team competing near the top of a league will have players not happy because: -
a) They are not playing where they want to
b) They are put on the bench
c) They were on the bench last week
d) They get taken off
e) They were taken off last week
f) You pester them to pay subs or come training
g) You once shouted at them
h) They get grief from the wife / work about playing
Goes with the territory and I am sure Hotpoint will not be far away this season

Well your name and location really.
As you know I am an educated man and familiar with the Great Fire of London of September 2nd 1666 which destroyed 13000 homes, though only 16 people are thought to have lost their lives and it did help rid London of the plague.
Any other clues as to your identity I could work on?

WELL MRCOOPER I LIVE NEAR A RAF CAMP NOT FAR FROM PETERBOROUGH DOES THIS HELP YOU AT ALL AND THERE IS A SPACE SHIP NEAR BUY .
Bit of inside information Bakersman ?? I have heard this rumour since the start of December, not remotely interested if any of my players are unhappy at being left out or playing out of position, I am the manager and they will bloody well do exactly as they are told, every single player in my squad has had a chance to prove themselves this season.
But I will tell you something, I have a massive advantage here as we approach the final third of the season, we are in with a good shout of the league and are in the county cup quarter final, now you tell me that would any player who cares about his team, or team mates should I say, leave this club while we are in such a good position ?? No they wouldn't, so anybody who does leave will be doing it for their own selfish ego and quite frankly I wouldn't want them at my club if that were the case because that sort of attitude wins teams nothing.
Tommy, spot on with your player analysis !!!!
An interesting month ahead I think.........
surely this is the case in EVERY team at all levels if they have a full squad to choose from?
what a flawed argument as this part and parcel of any team sport.

So Mr cooper i read in some off your last post you have replaced a legend off off a striker with a player off the same calliber , If rumors are true Mr Reeder should not be spoken the same breath as Mr leftly also a certain Mr Gibbs has been rummered also to be one off your targets but turnedyou down.Though i do think Carl is a good replacement for Foggy. But please leave some off our team or you just trying , rub roger up the wrong way. Though know you have got a bit off pace at the back if the rumours are true ? Know sorry if i have let any thing out off the bag x x

Bakersman, not sure what u talking about!! Reeder is an adequate replacement for matt who should not have let in the first place as was important part of our squad.
As for harper being my replacement, we are very different players as can not see him playing sweeper and hitting long balls!! (for all oak boys)
He is a good defender though but the one concern i do have is he is to similar to lee davidson and eddie pattern!!
Will be hard for both to join an established team who were playing really well before xmas and should go on to win the league although will be hard but wish them good luck!!
Bit of controversy with the approach as well so I have heard ?? Why oh why don't some of you managers ever learn, Is the prize of winning the league worth all the underhand goings on that are happening again.......
Win the title with a bit of dignity and sportsmanship for christ's sake

Underhand - tommy!!! maybe tommy thought we owed Alconbury one after cup exit??
And come on spec, win at all costs, u know that!!
As a player Foggy without a doubt, things change when you have to be half responsible unfortunately.

As ever acted strictly within the rules (one of the few managers that does?)
Carl asked if he could sign for us after we beat Alconbury (again) and I said I would be delighted, but would have to put a 7 day approach in. This was done and I did not speak to the player again until after the 7 days was up (much to the constination of my own player who Carl had approached in the first place).
Carl signed the transfer form this Tuesday, but unfortunately Roger.D advised that the Alconbury Secretary had not told him about the approach and understandably wanted to speak to the player himself. Now 4 days later and I am not aware if that conversation has taken place, but do know that because Alconbury have not yet signed the transfer form (even though you have to sign it after 7 days or submit a letter as to why not) this has prevented Carl playing for us today.
I can also confirm that I have not made, or have any intention of making an approach for any other Alconbury player, and this might be wishful thinking on their part. Happy with the squad I have got and the signing of Carl & Elliott Reeder are purely to replace Matt Leftley and the unfortunate Darren Fogg.
Talking of Matt Leftley Spec, (who I am not for 1 second suggesting was the subject of an underhand approach), I seem to remember signing his transfer ahead of the completion of the 7 days so that he could play for you on the Saturday at Parson Drove - I'm not a spitefull or resentfull individual and if a player wants to leave and play elsewhere then whats the problem?
Chris Judge
07-01-2006, 18:38
I fully agree with Tommy's comments and signed the form for Matt Leftley - disappointed they have not fulfilled promise of retuning equipment as they said.
But Alconbury have behaved poorly in this instance.
Not knocking you or Judgey at all Tommy, and was very impressed with the way you allowed to let Matt join us in time to play at Parson Drove and I thank you for that, as regards the equipment (although perhaps track suits wouldn't really count as equipment) the only reason you haven't recieved it back was because of the xmas break where nobody saw a lot of each other and it wasn't handed over. I will make sure you recieve it this week as that really isn't a plausible excuse from us.

Thank you Spec - Matt gave me a bag with a couple of tops in it yesterday - or should I say he went to pass me the bag, it fell out of his hands bounced off his knee and went 20 yards down the street!
Not sure how many people have been goal scoring subs against Leverington for 2 different sides in the same season Matt, so you might have a claim to fame there - can't deny that you are a completely natural goalscorer, not many other strikers would have spotted that gap between the keepers legs from 20 yards out like you did yesterday!
Be interesting to see if Moulton bounce back against an improved Alconbury this week - any truth in the rumour about the wayward Mr Regan going there to replace Carl Harper (if they ever sign the transfer form)?
[We dont need adam regan we have a ready made replacement for carl harper in danny bowyer,As we found out saturday playing centre half and scoring a hat-trick.not many players have done that? And as to the carl harper approach taking him to the talbot in stilton and plying him with drinks isnt underhand ?Oh and while im on the carl harper subject roger phoned him and phoned him all week and he would'nt answer his phone carl phoned barry wednesday night when we was at training. We are all mate's after 90 minutes and we just wanted to hear it from him what was going on. :soo: :soo: :soo: color=blue][/color]

Funny as this subject started out as players unhappy at Hotpoint. Can't believe how upset you Alconbury boys have got over Carl - there was no plying him with drinks in the Talbot Johno - he got into a car at Alconbury with 3 of our players after our game with you and was in a round with them - we did not hold his head under the bath or anything - he wanted to come to us - is that so hard to take?
Always 2 sides to every story and Carl transfer finally done and dusted.

well Tommy i would have to agree with you there mate a natural goal scorer that's 12 on sat 14 or 15 on sun you obviously have a talent for spotting this sort of thing same you let it go you never no it my come round to haunting you
now wouldn't that be something. Tracksuit top and training top in bag bottoms will be there on sunday sorry for the delay i understand i will get my 10£ back that i paid for it i hope mr judge dont take as long giving me that as he did my tracksuit ( 4 months ) .robbo what's the web address were the pics of new years eve are.

Matt, as the man who brought you back in the upper echelons of local football, I will take nothing but pleasure from any success you bring to your respective sides this season and I am thankful for the goals you scored for us during your time at Ortonians.
Apologies for the delay in getting a tracksuit for you, but we did have to have one specially made to fit your unique bodyshape (said the pot to the kettle!)
The £10 signing fee is to cover insurance costs, and with the Darren Fogg situation (ironically the only player not to pay the £10 so far!) it is a good job that we charge it.
All the best to you and your family for 2006 and your collegues at both Hotpoint & Royal Oak.
only1fogg
10-01-2006, 14:38
Tommy, I told wilse, you and judgey you can have £10 whenever you like!! Always pay fines and subs on time although you still charging me £3 for alconbury when i broke my leg and also want to charge me for the sock they had to cut off to get to my leg!!
Next you'll be asking me to run the line to cover mark jeary when he decides not to turn up to pay it back!!
See you tmrw at Huntingdon!!
I've heard a few ortonians players who have moved on to other clubs have begrudged giving their track suit tops back as they believed they had paid for them with their £10.
perhaps a lack of communication from the clubs point of view if this £10 was indeed for insurance, not the top as everyone seems to think
Chris Judge
11-01-2006, 16:45
It seems we are not the only club who ask for tracksuits (not tops) back. Signed two players this week one Alconbury and one from Northern Star both wanted track suits back before signing form.
Bob if you can get prostar tracksuits for a tenner let me know there is fortune to be made
Bob you a another one too ashamed to reveal real name

Tommy Trophy
12-01-2006, 08:23
Unless players are either: -
a) Deaf
b) Stupid
c) Both
Then they will know that our signing on fee covers insurance in the event of a Darren Fogg type injury. As you know we live a nomadic existence, with no fixed base or sponsorship and therefore have to be self funded - not ideal and one of the many reasons why our continued success is to be admired. Still keep knocking - only thing worse then people talking obsessively about you is when they're not talking about you.
matt leftley
12-01-2006, 09:43
Well, as it would seem i am not the only player who was told it was for his tracksuit and yes i was. mr judge the normal thing in football is that a sponsor buys the tracksuits and the club then charge the players 10 or 20 quid wow this is amazing isn't it.
1. DEAF
2. STUPID
3. BOTH
Well, tommy deaf no that's a fact had to listen to you rambling on every sat.

Mr Judges "enthusiasm" about getting the Ortonians tracksuits back is the stuff of legends at Netherton. But going from 1 bench to another seems to have made you bitter Matt. I've seen you play twice this year and you were really crap both times. I think you be grateful that you have a reputation earnt in the past that gets you into these clubs?

now then ladies put your handbags away !!
Just to clear things up as i understand, the £10 has always been to cover insurance when you join ortonians and the tracksuit is then given to you. If YOU choose to leave then you must give the tracksuit back although not sure if they pass it on as seconds to other players!!

12-01-2006, 16:35
have u really offside, cause us at netherton dont even know who this posh kid is... would be intrested to know though who our keen supporter is.
just so u know foggy i paid 10 quid for signing on, insurance etc , and a further 10 quid for tracksuits etc . thats where the confusion is as when people leave or get saked in my case then suddenly the tracksuit is issued to another person so an extra 10 quid can be made. .
Chris Judge
12-01-2006, 17:01
Eddie you must have a very poor memory as you paid only a tenner in your last season for Ortonians and that covered the insurance as was the case in the previous season and the same for all players.
You actually only received a tracksuit top as all players did that season and you returned that towards the end of the season even though you were sacked in January.
The fact we ask for the track suits to be returned is no different to a host of others clubs - two clubs made the request this week when we signed their players.
I dont know who Posh Kid is either he is obvioulsy posing as a Grange man with his comments and would point out to him that six Netherton players left last season and not one offered to return the gear until asked.
Hope Eddie you regain fitness - that is from injury
Nibble Nibble Judgy, have heard that the £10 tracksuit affair is one of your favourite topics of discussion, please keep it up as its very entertaining for the outsider. :blh:

Could the posh kid be your friend tommy winding you up matt you have to aks yourself?? asked all the players at netherton no body has confessed - originally thought it was coming from the seddon household but definatly not, definatly think you need to look closer to home!

Thank you Offside - as Charles Kennedy has found out this week, coming clean is not all it's cracked up to be.
Had my fun a few months ago now, and all posts are now under Tommy the Ortonian (as I have said already) - still one of the minority whose identity is known, but must admit that I am not really too bothered any more if people use real names or not. In fact I am totally relaxed about pretty much everything at the moment on the football front - more important things to keep my mind occupied (like a beach in the Gambia a week Tuesday and 30 degree sunshine)
Anyone who feels they were misled on the £10 - tracksuit issue, please get in touch - if it is that important to you, I am more than happy to give your money back.
Thanks Tommy, at last hopefully an end to this tedious saga about £10 and tracksuits. Can we discuss anything more interesting please?
I've heard a rumour that the Rainbow Warrior is on route to the Gambia as we speak, just in case of a potential "beaching" disaster.

Thanks Steve - will do and no, have not forgotten.
Shame to miss the Peterborough Sports game, though that might change with the replay between them and Leverington to fit in.
Interestingly if that is played on January 28th when Leverington don't currently have a game, then I suppose we could play Peterborough Sports intended opponents - Hotpoint!
Came back early from Barcelona last year especially to mastermind (my interpretation) a PFA Cup victory over them, but think that West Africa might be a bit far for that unless I can get someone with a video phone to transmit the action to me
Not Steve, forget the video phone, a laptop and a web-cam's the way forward, be careful though, don't want any thumb sucking incidents resulting in you being stripped of your imminent sports personality award.

thank you kindly and as i recieve that money i will have nothing but good memories to talk about when people mention ortonians
Hello everyone,
I would just like to say that this tracksuit top thing is getting a bit bore off now really.
But on the chris judge comments on Orton players leaving and joining netherton utd and then not returning tops. I can only speak for myself but i left my manager at the time, alan wilson a text message and a voice mail explaining that i was leaving and what he want's me to do with the top. Never got a reply. What are we suppose to do if they don't get back to u?
I then take the top back to chris judge house, get a very bad reception and hardly a word was spoken after 4 years good service to the club.
Am thinking my £10 can you give it to Mr E Seddon he could do with the money. If you could pass my £10 on to eddie that would be grand.
Thanks for the offer.

Glad you are happy guys, but just need to make it quite clear that this money came from me and not Ortonians as I agree that we have always been very upfront with this. Reason for the offer (which I did not think anyone would have the balls to accept, but once you did I was in a bit of a corner) were: -
a) You must be desparate for the money!
b) You believed you were misled
c) This subject does my head in
d) That this whole issue has and does reflect badly on a club that prides itself on its reputation.
Nothing wrong in getting a bit of positive PR every now and then, and I hope this is clear to everyone both inside and outside the club that this was very much a personal gesture.
Well i hope Posh kid spends my tenner wisely judgey. i can assure everybody that it is not me, so that eliminates one netherton player who also plays cricket.

I would just like to say thank you to tommy cooper for the letter that he wrote. Also for the £10 that Mr E Seddon will invest (Not sure in what tho)!!
I had a great time during my 4 years at ortonians and wish the club well in the future. Thank you very much for the comments tommy. I do agree with most of the comments and the one that my level of fitness was not at the time high enough to regain a first team place was right on the money. I was not fit enough.
However i don't agree with the comment that i said you didn't rate. Alan wilson last season was always saying that if i was fit then tommy said i would be knocking on the first team door. All i said was, tommy has his favorites and like most managers you do and i don't think no matter how fit i was i don't think i would ever get into the first team. Which is fair enough.
The two main reasons why i left Ortonians was i doubted i would ever get back into the first team. My decison seemed to be right when you put comments on this very website about only Ian Hair would get into the squad etc. Also most of my mates were going to leave Orton and join netherton sat side. I have been playing for netherton for a good few years and wanted to join them on a sat. Also wanted to play for Marce on a sat as well.
I Hope ortonians go on and win the league. All the best for the season and beyond.

I see from this site that you and the Perkins managers are congratulating yourselves on being such good drinkers on Saturday (of course no-one else has a drink after a game), I believe that you did have a game of Football in the afternoon which with a 3-2 scoreline might have been a half decent game and worth talking about? Still so long as the drinking was good eh? PSL have not got a manager, which leaves Ortonians - enough said! Yep just a matter of time now.
