View Full Version : Eye V Stilton... Here we go again!

Still buzzing from the Eye/Warboys conversation the pre match banter and build up begins now.
Its top of the table(on merit) Eye Sports hosting a stilton side that will travel off the back of a 5-0 win. With Eye joint top of the table and 3 points due to appear from the March St Marys game it should be another big weekend.
Stilton still have 2 games in hand and 7 points to catch up, it could well prove to be a big, if not the biggest game of Eye's season.
A win for Eye would take them cruising along, although another Stilton win would well crack this league open. Just like clive and billys mercy game it could prove to be a very tight match.
Let the banter begin( although it could be all quiet with Fen tiger having no leg to stand on) :)

2 Tough games in 2 weeks for Eye, close to call but think if u can keep Baines quiet Eye will win!

a smart enemy also wins big games when they need to though dont they:soo:
you were lucky that you had that number 2( i think) as he was your best player on the pitch.
BLUE BOYS

you would like to take a back seat but with all the yapping you have done you will find people will look for your result. all good banter, out of interest on what basis do you take your opinions of whittlesey res,s on.i see mr harley believes we have a good 11 but theres more to it than that we have a good squad of 16 players i think thats all we have used and are playing really well as a team and the more we do the better we are getting.as for the game yesterday lost our leading scorer 15mins before k.o and still turn in a 5-0 win
now now fenster dont try turning the table.
you started off by taking the defeat gracefully you should keep it that way!

blue boy good shout we have got a good 16 or so players all competing for 11 starting positions and regardless who starts we always have quality on bench! Still taking 1 game at a time, shout ur mouth off n you end up with egg on your face don't ya fenny
ha ha ha, number 2 the best player on the pitch, u know how the fen tiger rolls. lol
i may shout my mouth off but its all in a good cause, i love the banter,
an i dont sit there with an egg on my face cuz the manager has jus piked up an said i was the best player on the pitch for my team,
the eggs all urs hot shot
a smart enemy also wins big games when they need to though dont they:soo:

how can I have the egg on my face fenny never make any match predictions, if u was the best player on your side fair play to you. enjoy the banter also
i cant undrstand how its good being the best player on a loosing side?
who is norally the best player when your side wins then? guessing its not No:2?!
ha ha.
and that comment by sneeks wa just a bit of bait that you sucked down bro, tastes good tho dont it :D
Sneeksxxx8 is not the Manager son. If i had to name a player it would be your number 6 (not sure of his name)

Anyway, back to the thread topic, I am going for Eye to pull off another win this week. We played Stilton the week before last and apart from us hitting the self destruct button after 10 mins, thay were no great shakes. We came out the second half, (after a B****cking from the gaffer) and played stilton off the park. Yeah ok we were 5-0 down but they say football is a game of two halves, well in that case, we won the second half 1-0! After playing against all the top 3 teams this season, I'm going for Eye to take the title! This IS just my own opinion!

All seems a little bit quiet on here doesnt it. Well now that Fen Tiger has been done, it finally seems to have silenced him. Predictions on the Eye Stilton game?
im saying a draw, ooooooo how sweet it would be.
pressure is all urs now, dont falter for the 3rd time this season lads. that would be a nightmare wouldnt it.
urm no, it still keeps us joint top with you or on point clear should we draw.

tough 1 to call this guys.know players from both teams and both have quality on show.stuck my neck out and went for stilton to win title but i think they might have the collywobbles at mo.gino and harbs seem to have injected fire into the whole team its goood.gonna fence sit so eye 2 stilton 2
Thats ok guys i will be honest myself and say Stilton have an excellent side.
All i can say is hope we turn up for 90 minutes and not just 20 this time.
We know its a big game and this will be a good game you can count on it.
Fen i love the fun mate been a little busy so just throwing crap messages out there, not too sure what i was getting at.
its time to play the game.

After watching a lot of different teams this season i think this is going to be the game to watch. I will certainly be there. I think the most overrated team so far this season have been Warboys. (Sorry Fen Tiger) I have seen you 4 times and on every occasion you have been lucky to come away with anything but some how scabbed a win/draw. This will be the game that decides the who wins the league out of this division and who comes second, and my prediction will be Eye 1-2 Stilton. I think Stilton have not played well but have still got results. Stilton and Eye to go up.
Harbs thought you were best player on the pitch against Warboys. Well done mate
well thank you very much, totally understand your game prediction too.
its going to be an achievement for us to take points from Stilton after our last game and after last week we know we have it in us to beat a good side.
Either way any result will leave us fired up to still finish top and it would still be possible so its nice to know we can afford a slip.

Bezza,
Do you play or have played for anyone?
Who have you seen so far?
And i think eye and stilton will be close game maybe 2.2
Harbs lets us know the result again please mate

I havent and never will do if. If you ever see me you would know why.
I have seen most teams this season, i saw you lot when you beat Stilton at home. Very poor Stilton but thought Manea shone on that day and fully deserved an unexpected win.
Sawtry i saw at Warboys and were very unlucky to not come away with the win, let alone lose the match.
Peterborough Rovers have seen twice, unlucky just lack fire power.
Chatteris and Benwick didnt look too impressive but they were both against Stilton.
Good standard of football
Should be a cracker, having played both its still difficult to choose between the two but i think the home advantage might just be the difference. Good luck to both sides anyway.

I think a draw wld be good here, an fair play to eye on that day the better team won! well see wen the season is over tho thats wen it really matters dont it. An i agree that no.2 aint the best player on the pitch lol A FEN TIGER lol

09-01-2008, 17:37
May pop down and watch this one. Think Stilton will edge it, but have faltered against the better clubs in this league at times (Manea) and Eye are definitely one of them.
Not sure but if Bezza is who i think he is (first name Richard?), the closest he gets to playing footy is pro evo on the playstation and he is not very good at that.

Why are you giving my secret identity away and yes i do know who you are Slim Bratts. And if i recall i beat you the last two times i played. Easy Easy Easy
look at this! even my own team mates are slating me...... dont listen 2 him, he cant see past the end of his nose. his name WARRIOIR couldnt be further from the truth, he dont know how 2 roll up his sleeves on a footie pitch 2 save his life.

10-01-2008, 08:39
Sorry Bezza, yes you did beat me, but c'mon i think we both no it probably will not happen again, may see you saturday if your going and im allowed to go watch!
The ball and chain is surely not attached already is it Justin?:nono:
Thats fast work.
Bezza, i take it you will be at Eye Saturday?
Biggest game on the planet was the call last night!
Should be a frantic and firey game, i have to agree that the victory will come by the odd goal.
Been looking forward to it all week, can't wait.
Slim - I may need you to bench warm saturday!!
Slim Bratts
10-01-2008, 13:24
Ball and chain has been attached for ages now Gazza :sosad: you know what the female species is like, put a ring on their finger and its game over.
BRATTS - You are now the enemy as braggy has told me how many of our lot you may promote to the first team so I am on strike. :flip:
No, I can't say i do! Not that you helped matters!
Slim - i aint taking that many!! only those who have played last couple games for me and have done very well......did also tell you me n lee have signed 6 players for the reserves as well....just make sure you give braggy your backing, you should be back playing nxt week
Back of the Net
10-01-2008, 14:17
bratts - who you signed for the reserves then?? and was it you that signed em or Davey boy?
BOTN - i got a call from davey boy saying he knew a couple of lads that want to play saturday, gave me ther numbers, i phoned / text them, n then got them signed? Why's that???? Does it matter who got them to the club??? At the end of the day we had changes at our club and as you get no matter what club you are at, when 1 players leaves others start to follow, then you get other clubs start putting 7 dayers in ( which they are within there rights to do ), all of a sudden we go from having 2 teams, to possibly only having 1 team. We ( as a club ) have pulled together and will know be able to field a competitive 1st team and a strong reserve side.
Back of the Net
10-01-2008, 15:15
davey was at our game Sunday, afterwards he asked virtually ALL our lads to sign for PSL res - he didn't speak to me 1st and to be honest I was really p*ssed off with it, if you're asking virtually a whole Sunday side to sign for you on a saturday I'd have thought someone would have at least run it past me 1st???
Not that I could do anything about it (and I wouldn't want to either) but surely out of courtesy a quick word could have been had?
Back of the Net
10-01-2008, 15:20
good luck with it all though, I know it can be tough finding players
Good meeting last night Jimmy aye, tell you what its good having a joint manager never been use to that at the clubs where I been (no disrespect!), always found myself doing everything pulled from pillar to post. I'm positive the club is stable on and off the pitch and can now start to push for safety and roll on pre-season when our hands are untied and we can signed who the feck we please!
BEZZA1980
10-01-2008, 15:21
I will be there Gazza. Got to cheer on the boys, and will also give Slim Bratts a pounding now. I dont have to ask the other half if i can go though.
Slim Bratts will you have to phone in every half an hour to check up?
BOTN - to be honest i knew nothing about that!! And can only apologise, if i am thinking of approaching any player ( whether from a saturday or sunday side ) i would either contact the manager 1st or put the 7 dayer in( saturdays ). Why he asked a whole team i have no idea as we only needed about 5/6 players for the ressies.
Thanks for the good luck wish, we going to need it, you can never replace a ben lawrence or jamie graham...but the lads we will bring in will be good quality players that will do a good solid job for us ( hopefully ). Tough game this week v crowland followed the following week by being away at moulton harrox. Any way this topic is suppose to be about Eye v Stilton - come on harbs n co.
Sean I'm sure the lad was only trying to help his side out and assumed two different days not a problem and all that, seen as they hadnt played for a couple of weeks. Understand he should maybe out of courtesy had a conversation with you? Anyway, on another matter do you still play sats? Trev could do with a hand managing the reserves if your interested? Needs a gaffa on the side lines to shout at him...! If you interested drop him a pm.

Still playing Saturdays mate and 1 managers role is enough (wifey would hit the roof with 2 hahaha) thanks for the offer though.
I'm sure Davey didn't spare a thought if it was a problem or not and thats what bugged me.
How would you and Jimmy feel if a sunday lad came and watched your game on a Saturday and then in the bar afterwards went about signing/asking lots of your lads to come and sign for them - and not speaking to you about it, either before, during or afterwards??
Bit cheeky wouldn't you say? It's done though and I honestly wish you lot the best of luck
Sean if i am honest it wouldnt bother me..cos it's not as if he came to your saturday side asking them to play saturday football ( if that was the case then i would be p1ssed about it ) but as he has asked lads who are playing on a SUNDAY if they fancy playing SATURDAY football i dont see that as a problem. But as you say i would have spoke to you 1st out of RESPECT about it. Any way it is done now, and hasnt done any harm has it?? Good luck with your saturday side and obvi on sundays.
Back of the Net
10-01-2008, 16:07
mate it would bother you, becasue as you say "out of respect you'd say something" meaning if someone didn't say something 1st they are being a bit dis-respectfull, and thats how it was mate. but it's done now! minor point but a situation I'd like to avoid in the future and all that....
I dont mind em signing at all and wish them and all at PSL good luck for the rest of the season.
whinger, i would have just asked the players too, you should want them all to play together more would make for a better squad.
Slim Bratts
10-01-2008, 16:11
Yeah HARBS where are you and Gazza? You should be abusing each other like the Fen Easy Tiger / Warboys Ultimate Warrior...or are either of you not confident enough to face the p*ss take when one of your sides comes on here defeated on Monday?! (im just trying to up the anti a bit!)
BEZZA you beast - i was just joking about the missus, i rule the roost in my home...Well when she's not in. Will let you by me a beer Saturday if i decide to come watch the mighty Div2 clash of the tights.
BOTN - Dont no what the fuss is about asking Sunday players to play sats as it does not really affect there Sunday side at all - its up to the player if he wants to play on a Saturday. What worries me is the fact that you say he is asking everyone...as we don't just wanna make numbers up, we need good players to come in and replace good players that go to the first team (not saying your players are not good!)
Anyways Eye 3 Stilton 4 (though i hope Eye win).
Back of the Net
10-01-2008, 16:20
Harbs - we'd have laughed you out of the pub hahahaha - nice try mate!
Slim - it's not a problem that they are siging and I encourage them to play more, it's the manner in which it was done mate... if you're turning up at a game and afterwards are thinking of asking more than a couple of the lads to sign for you then out of respect you should really let the manager know what you're doing, I would and as Jimmy/Lee have already said - so would they.
As I say, I wish PSL luck for the rest of the season and I'm sure our lads will do their best for ya when needed. Not sure how many signed in the end so you'll hav to ask Davey Boy that one (think it was 3 and you're lucky to have them as they're good lads).
Slim Bratts
10-01-2008, 16:28
BOTN - fair comment. Good lads and good players are always welcomed and thats what we need! We will try not to get them injured for ya
Sean - it was dave hancock, kev snider, dean manighan ( due to sign ), 7 days have gone into bretton park rangers for a player, robbie lowbridge and a lad by the name of anthony davidson ( these 2 played for me sunday am's at farcet ), we also signed a young lad by the name of cochran ( forget his 1st name ). These lads will all go to our reserve side.
the only reason you'd have been laughing is because i would be looking for good players. there must be some in a pub up the road right?

what you know about good players Harbs could be written on a postage stamp!
And we all know that Gino wouldn't trust you to make the tea at Eye let alone sign players hahaha....
so dar from the truth and you know it, i assume your still hurting from those fair tackles the ref didnt blow up for.
no point in holding grudges mate ;)

Hell of bite you got there BOTN. Harbs has probably got pre match nerves ahead of what I think maybe the title decider after last weeks warm up. Still going for an Eye win here!
I hope you don't let all your fans down Harbs!
Justin- Last weeks banter was amazing, not sure 2 teams who know each other so well like us and Eye could slag each other off that much. Although i'm here if you fancy a pop Harbs. Or can it wait 45 hours, i hope thats right.......... yep think so.
get off my thread and start your own about loosing all your sunday players to a Saturday team?"?" :P ha
Back of the Net
10-01-2008, 17:06
didn't lose any players mate, they're all still with EMAP - have been for almost 4 years.
You should chill a bit Harbs, all this biting before a big game may unsettle you!
I'm going for a draw, both teams should finish 1st and 2nd in our league in my opinion, maybe the Baines brothers could nick it for them?
cant help it, high pressure job - rent boy
They will do well to do that considering only one is available! Not gonna tell you which one though, you might work it out..... then again probably not.

Gazza have we got a full team this week?
Slim Bratts
10-01-2008, 17:38
I did not know you were an Eye supporter as well Bezza!? Hmmm i am a neutral on this one really, obviously part of me wants a Stilton loss, just to wind you chaps up, but when a free pint is being offered it makes it a little more difficult.
Decisions...decisions :soo:
Back to a previous comment Gazza, i am not going to comment on this Saturdays game, im anxious for the weekend to arrive which ever team looses is going to have one **** weekend so the banter can happen after the game.
its far too important to the season im afraid!

10-01-2008, 17:41
Harbs. Are you fancying the win though?
Slim Bratts
10-01-2008, 17:47
C,mon Harbs give us a predicted scoreline, you must be confident after the win against Warboys.
Bezza, cant have a wager with you as i think your lot will just edge it as ive said. Yeah bring me a shirt by all means as im not sure the Eye facilities will have toilet paper.

Thats a fair shout Harbs, the game is gonna be spicy enough due to it's importance anyway.
Bezza- I could'nt possibly comment on any notable absentees or returning players at this time.
See you saturday mate!
Slim Bratts
11-01-2008, 08:49
Elky - You to bud, looking forward to a good match and 2 cans of Special brew from Bezza, as long as my brother does not kidnap me and stick me on the bench for the first team.
Nearly there Gazza, im having a pro evo night just to get the mind body and soul set for tomorrow.
its not easy keeping up with bains trying to stay in line with that last man with a flag in my hand :-/ lets hope the lad replacing me tomorrow shows him a thing or two tho.
Playing me at my own game there i think Harbs, i like you am not that stupid.
I fancy an hour of yoga, followed by peaceful meditation to concentrate my energy on one specific goal. Or is that taking it too far?:)
not at all... if you want to bag an own goal mate thats up to you ;)
dont concentrate too hard or you'll burn out!
lovely dull weather today to set the sun up for tomorrow.
My attention span is'nt long enough for that to happen, hence why i'm on here at the moment.
Slim - sorry bro you are required to bench warm for me saturday!!!! I na you wanted to go watch this battle of the shandy drinkers ( only joking lads ) but your ' pass out ' from jen is required to come wiv me saturday.
That's if the games go ahead. If the weather continues down this line Slim will need another excuse to get out of the house!

Stilton to win, but will be close! Depends how a certain Mr M Baines is played as Gino knows only to well!
shut it Foggy you havent even got a clue which way your office is at the moment.
