Hi everyone,
Do any of the lads that play in the Peterborough leagues play in any of the divisions of the SoccerSixes held at Wisbech on a Wednesday night. A few of my friends play and think it is a good way to get a game in during the week. The pitches also look pretty smart.
Whats the general thinking of it to all the players out there?
dont play in the wisbech league but do play 5 a side at the powerleague.it is a good way to get a game during the week and keeps you a bit fitter(especially in the summer when the 11 a side games are finished

i played for ateam up powerleague and the refs are rubbish
yea sorry i did mean harbs !!!!!!!!!!!!
They are particularly shocking at Powerleague - although let's be honest; without any refs we'd be fcked as we wouldn't have any games to play full stop. They may make some silly errors on occasion, but they have nothing but my full respect and are vital to our game.
when i reffed at powerleague in Slough, i was 1 of only 2 qualified refs there. So im sure thats the same all across the board
agree with u Raph it is hard with all the greif but what ross says about them not qualified is shocking!!!

Surely if powerleague are using unqualified refs they are leaving themselves open to a law suit should someone get a very nasty injury due to a bad tackle. Can you shed any light on this one Ross?
Well i dont know about the Peterborough Power League, as i havent lived in Peterborough for nearly 6 years now, but whilst reffing in Slough, there were only 2 of us qualified. Things were set for change though, as they wanted all of the unqualified refs to sit a small sided rules course. They even wanted the qualified guys to take it, to which we said "On yer bike" as why should we be forced to pay for an additional course, when weve sat through it all already
very good ponit there mr harley it is a bit 'dodgty' but a big company like that would surley have something in the small print saying its at there own risk ect
That's it really - they probably have an 'indemnity' written into the rules and reg's when you sign up a team. They normally stipulate that you need to have your own insurance cover as a team, as the league will not be liable. Because Powerleague (I believe) do not affiliate themselves with the FA (correct me if I am wrong) then they do not legally require their refs to be affiliates either.
