I was wondering why England fans are so fickle!
there was 20 mins into the game & the fans were booing the team? then 10 mins later there singing that anoying great escape song.
As much as i hate to see England loose or do bad (not) i still can still be honest if they play well or not. So will the fans say England were great? i thought they were average against a average team. But its a winning start & he should be pleased!
boooooooooooo, boooooooooooo ya self macaceltic.
i think it was a typical nerous performance, take a look at james first touch slice in the stands and why... nerves.
when they settle mate they will be a much better squad mainly because this manager wants whats best for the team not himself as **** as that sounds. he's already a renound manager and a man that was actually a good player just wish he could speak english :-/

Dont know about being fickle, its going to be a long hard job getting England back into one of the top sides in the world.Good get together and the right result last night.Performance will come in time.As you say, an average team against an average team. The F.A decided to give England a game against an average side before putting us up against the giants of World football......SCOTLAND:lsr:
Tom you took the words right out of my mouth. Only one thing I disagree with, it was an average team against a poor team(who still managed a goal) We still have a long way to go but let's give the man a chance.
i think its a good job we didnt smash them after speaking in depth to a mate this morning (yes i got a few of them) imagine the dissillusion most of the nation would be in thinking thats it we are transformed we can start winning again.
its a win at the end of the day and any team would take a win just look at Brazil 1-0
I still think that the root of the problem is a malaise that has set in since 1990. There are not enough quality English players - which is why Wes Brown was playing - he was shocking and what Upson was doing in there, also Barry, I have no idea. There needs to be a cap on just how many foreign players are playing in Premier League sides. The only Arsenal player yesterday was Senderos for the Swiss and he is cack anyhow!
People can say that if British players were better, they'd play more or get bought by overseas clubs - but like any market, if a product is in high demand and short supply, the price will be artificially inflated. I'd say max 6 non-ENGLISH players in any starting line-up in the Premier League.
You saw the evidence in the last World Cup, of the winning country having a fair balance in their home league of home grown players.
This is coming from someone whose first team is Italy! Want to see England do well too.

i guess the fact that getting used to England being an average team takes a bit of getting used to!
As i said before i like seing England Fail being scottish but i can be honest when i see that how good the are or how well the've played. But why does the fans not get behind them all the way, yes they were nervous & you could see it but thats the fans that have done that to them.
My point is what if it was an important game against a good side like Italy France Brazil Argentina or my favourites to push the big teams Ivory Coast?
as much as i want to disagree with you i really cant. i went to game last night and it was my first time at wembly so i was well up for it. shame most of the others wasnt. it was a real flat atmosphere and did not help the players at all
did you hear the whole nation jeering and boo-ing? dont think so its was just a loud and obviously large amount of the crowd.
if i was sat in a pub with a group of jocs that believed Scotland couldn't kick a ball does that mean i should assume you feel the same? cus we all know u rate the tartan army with spain and brazil and ivory coast ;)

LoL no way were better than them. But why were there large sections boo-ing there was only 20 mins played, whats that all about.
No in all honesty we are getting alot better with good players hitting there peak at the same time eg scott brown & alan hutton, darren fletcher. We will still struglle to qaulify for the world cup Macadonia away 1st game will be difficult as many a team has found out, but holland have had some bad result in qaulifying so we will see

Oh tin tin the old banter starts again eh, i agree we are now starting to prduce some fine scottish players which is only good for the Inernational game. Rangers youth academy is now starting to pay off and celtic now building one to can only have the same affect in the next 10 years so at present our future looks a little brighter.
But remeber this boys slag bitch and take the **** out of us north of the border if that makes you feel better but when you come back down to reality you will just need to accept the fact that the England football team is just another average team. But like everone says you boys do love the underdog maybe all that negative thinking has finally paid off!!!
Keep up the good work lads!!:flip:
