Can't believe I am going to say this, especially about a member of the Ferguson family, but Peterborough Utds loss will be another clubs gain if he has been sacked.

What are the odds that Mr Fry will bounce into the hotseat?

Shaggy and Paul Mac for the POSH job gets my vote.....

seriously though, massive loss to POSH if he goes at this stage, who else will come in and put up with Fry's nonsense?

he's let tom williams join qpr on loan today. most assists in the team and mosts defensive assists in the league! he's been out the past 3-4 games and posh have been struggling to score.

i think Darragh has found out he'd been allowed to leave and it was the final straw!! fergie's treatment of some players has also been disgraceful.

fergie has an inability to see the obvious problems and has favourites in the squad who are untouchable. i only think him leaving will be a loss to posh if we end up with a complete clown in charge. he's clearly been out of his depth this season.

He overachieved last year and has only been allowed to bring in more young unproven players. It's hardly a surprise they're struggling.

If he treats the players so badly how come they always play for full 90 minutes even thought there's been little chance of getting anything.

I doubt he'll have any difficulty getting a job and wouldn't be surprised to see CMS, Coutts, Boyd and Mclean follow. As for Tommy, strange decision but first and foremost it's all very well getting assists but he's a defender and Rowe has looked much better in that respect.

as a posh fan of 40 yrs i am not suprised or against the decision! his decisions this season with regards to who takes the blame have been diabolical. MORGAN has been his downfall yet he insists on blaming other defenders! he buys defenders for £ 700,000 and then plays an unfit charlie lee in defence? overall his managerment skills this season have been a joke! hard maybe but our position says it all, mr southgate available?

totally agree oldbloke! i feel really sad as it feels like we've all had great times together over the past couple of seasons but those great times will count for nothing if we crash and burn this season. i think the best man for the job with a consistent track record in this division is iain dowie.

its a shame that fergie has gone but unfortunally the buck stops with the manager and he didnt want any so called bigger players and thought he could win things with kids and non league players.
Granted some of them have been fantastic but if the POSH fans are happy with it then it must be the right choice. Steve Coppel, Ian Dowie, Alan Curbishley are all around at the moment as is Alan Shearer so not is if POSH are short on choices and im sure its a job that will have some appeal but 1st things 1st they must break this wage barrier.

Peter Taylor or Steve Coppell for me. Someone who's been there and done it. I am sure that Ferguson will wind-up as Brendan Rodgers' replacement at Reading.

Personally for me think club should have stood by Fergie and russell its to easy to point fingers when things aint going well, the last couple of years (luck or no luck needed) they have been excellent days for posh fans, remember the parade scenes in May when they made the championship. Heard it said before on here but you only have to remember the days when Forinton and Crow were the best we had to offer and St Ledgers/Bleesdales crap on sky. Who were boyd, mclean, mackail-smith, coutts, whelpdale, batt, even lewis to a degree 2/3 seasons ago? They owe a lot to him and the club for taking the gamble with them and they should start showing this potential to keep their side in the league.

Best of luck to darren, he will be another clubs gain if he has gone. You dont know what you got till its gone... we shall see... they need some signings in January for sure.

    UP THE POSH

only coutts and batt are fergie signings out of that non league bunch. people need to realise that it was alexander, fry and even macanthony who had deals for the "superstars" in place well before ferguson arrived. coutts, keates(who he has fell out with), zakuani(who he has fell out with), tom williams(who he has fell out with) have been fergusons only real successful signings. and of that little lot only coutts is not among the top earners at the club so his cheap and cheerful policy was quite clearly unsuccessful! add to that anything between 15-30 unsuccessful signings since he has been here it was time to go!!

Wake up and smell the coffee lads, Darren Ferguson is the fall guy, they are trying to paper over the economic cracks at London Road, do you seriously think it would be his decision to keep buying kids, he was a professional footballer for christ sake. He tried to bring in 2 quality players a couple of months ago, 1 went to Celtic and the other to Burnley, both wanted to join Peterborough, both agents wanted them to join Peterborough, so why didn't they??

Tom Williams to QPR? Would Fergie be able to sanction that without Fry and Mcanthony's approval, no he wouldn't.
Why a 24 hour delay to admit he had gone? Cross his palm with silver to keep his mouth shut although I wish one manager would one day say fcuk the money I want everyone to know what is going on, but money talks these days.

He deserved longer, they are not that far off the pace and there's no money for whoever comes in next anyway. We all knew deep down it would end in tears

Can't believe the people who think it was right to get rid of him. 2 succesive promotions with basically same set of players is top drawer and very rare. Club had stretched beyond its ability both on and off pitch and I can guarantee that Darren won't be out of work for too long.

Ever since I moved to Peterborough the goings on at London Road have always been a little unusual and of course you hear all sorts of rumours. There is far more to this than meets the eye and what I suspect it that the outcome of all of this will be that Posh won't be in the Championship next season ans who knows if the whole true financial picture will ever emerge.

I couldn't win anything in the Peterborough Prem Harbs!! Always had a good crowd though....

Tommy, good point, but it always comes out in the end even if we have to wait 20 years for young Ferguson's autobiography!

Have you read the biog "THE BIG FRY" He seems to have spent his whole career around corruption, it will be very interesting to see what is going on behind the scenes.
