    Default Could It Be?!?!

Are we back to normal?! Really... do we have our second game in a row for the first time in 10 weeks?!
Normally by this point the league has a little break away pack and a relegation battle going on... apart from the relegation battle the league couldn't be more up in the air if it tried!

    Division 1

    Team ....................P...W...D...L...F...A...GD...P ts
    Netherton United .......11...7...1...3...30..26...4....22
    Eye Sports .............11...6...3...2...34..12...22...21
    Powerleague AFC .........9...7...0...2...29..20...9....21
    Ketton...................9...6...1...2...30..15... 15...19
    Peterborough Sports.....15...5...2...8...37..36...1....17
    Long Sutton Athletic.....9...4...4...1...26..14...12...16
    Kings Cliffe United .....8...5...1...2...20..12...8....16
    Stilton United..........10...4...2...4...21..16...5....13*
    Thorney..................8...4...1...3...18..21..-3....13
    Manea United.............9...2...1...6...15..20..-5.....5*
    Warboys Town FC.........11...1...2...8...17..34..-17....5
    Werrington Town.........10...0...0...10..8...59..-51....0

There are 9 teams that could easily make a charge for top spot if they get on a roll from Thorney up!
Its quite amazing and going to be a very interesting 2nd half to the season!

This weeks fixtures, surely going to throw up some interesting ressults!!!

    Ketton v Thorney

Kings Cliffe United v Manea United

Long Sutton Athletic v Netherton United

Five or six teams all in with a shout of the top two slots. Every match this week looks like a cracker too!

Wasn't Geniune a rapper? Or was that Ginuwine? Better to be predicted a draw and get a win, then predicted a win and end up with a draw/loss.

I predict Manea to have a good second part of the season.
I think Long Sutton have kept a low profile too and they are in prime position!

Like I said, there are five or six teams all in with a shout this season in Division 1; makes compelling viewing.

Slightly off the topic but links in with Harbs comment about playing 2 games in a row. Div 2 only has 10 teams, Div 1 has 12 and the Prem has 16. For the Prem that's 30 games, Div 1 has 22 and Div 2 has only 18. 12 games difference between the Prem & Div 2 which is theoretically 3 months, although I accept the Prem season starts earlier and has mid-week games at beginning and end of season.

I dont know how many teams are dropping out at the end of the season (maybe it's too early to know) but if there was a total of between 32 & 34 teams I reckon it'd make sense to have just 2 leagues as then players and teams wouldn't go weeks and weeks without a game or finish their season in March. I realise that if a team has a couple of good cup runs, plus games will always be missed every year due to mother nature then it can cause a bit of a back-up at the end of the season, but most teams and players I think would prefer that scenario rather than going weeks without a game.

    Just an idea..............

There are a about four or five teams in Div 1 that could easily hold their own in the Prem too.

I hear you're gonna be egg-chasing now Corbz? I must have been a good manager if you decided to retire after playing for me!

You were a good manager mate, the only reason i join PIO and play in that league was because of you, then you buggered off!!!

Which is why two years ago I dropped from captaining a Prem side, to running a Combi 3 side containing my mates? !!!
