All the best to you and your lads to in your final and the league, I think it will be a big loss when you lose Kevin Gilbert as even though we kept him quiet on Sat he looked a great player and you seem to look to get the ball to him all the time. But im sure you will hold on in there and get promoted, Good Luck. We are all looking forward to the finals but we still have 13 important league games as well, so still alot to do. Go Jube

We was out classed saturday, jube are strong all over the pitch, we were dissapointed not to make more of a game of it, but as Big Dave said the guyhirn result made the day a little bit better! jube had control of the match from the kick off but at 1-0 your never out of it, the second goal killed us! after seeing jubille i can see what the talk is about and sure they will end the season with some trophy's!

i was thankful some of the jubille lads let me out there pocket so i could play sunday

We still have a cup final to win and promotion(hopefully as champs)
Come on Lads, i need to come back to a trophy

decent bunch of lads and good luck for the final and your end of season run-in!

Does seem Coates may be falling apart nad very quiet on here this week
The question is will they win anything this season after cup final defeat by Doddington and need to be unbeaten in last five games in the league for title
Still if they do get promotion then I suppose they can be satisfied with that

I wondered how long it would take and who it would be to bring this up!!

Noone has been on here because as Manea and ourselves are about the only teams left to play any games it would be a pretty dull read if it was just the Coates lads having some banter wouldn't it?!!

As for us falling apart etc etc...........Yes we were disappointed to lose the final but there were a lot of teams that didn't get there mate, so we're happy!

At the start of the season our aim was to get promotion to Div 1, this is still very much possible. As for the title...we are not even thinking about that as we have got 5 tough games and we can only afford to draw one, so this looks a very tough ask!

We have lost 3 games all Season - one cup semi final to a very good Jubilee side, one final, and once to Guyhirn who currently top the table.......Not bad if you ask me!!

I'm guessing your season has ended Carrots which is why you are interested in us!! Oh well chin up!

Dave- i can't see why you won't get promoted mate, looking at the pdfl site you have got some tough fixtures coming up, but i cant see that causing you too much of a problem.

coates v benwick - very comfortable win

Manea v coates - coates win

coates v sawtry - you should just edge a win here

coates v doddington - how the hell they beat you in the final i will never no, they just a bunch of dirty so n so's ( sorry make that one player in particular!! ) oh yea coates win

coates v manea - coates win

All in all you lads have had a good season, one cup semi final / one final and pushing for promotion i'd be happy with that.

Good luck in you last few games. We got manea this saturday ( farcet win 3-0 )

    Bratts,

If we are going to talk the talk then we have to

So if we put ourselves up there , there is always people gonna knock you down.

I have to be pleased with only 3 losses, so far. But how pi**ed am I that for the second season running that we aint got anything to show for it. Not because we are owed anything just that we seem to fail at the big games. i.e. Doddington and Guyhirn. Guyhirn have snatched some real close games this season, they have conceded a lot of goals, but always seem to get the results. Thats what counts.

As for the final, should have been over by half time, even though we lost our leading goal scorer after 15 mins it was as one sided a game of football as you will see. But did they come out on a mission in the second half. We failed to compete when we needed to and they did a real good job of stopping us from playing football. A real game of 2 halves.

Three more big games and we are out of Div 2. As I said at the start of the season, a real tough division to get out of so we have to make sure we take our chance.

Mate, i know what you are saying as at the start of this season i was saying that we should do this and we should do that and we havent done nothing this season.

The arrival of seb hayes and the lads he has brought to the club have given us a new lease of life, we have won our last 4 games in a row and will be looking to make it 5 with our final game of the season this saturday v manea. If only we played the football we are playing now at the start of the season, we would have been there or there abouts.

The good thing is we have a good foundation to build on for next season and thats what we are looking forward to.

Looking at table, 2 points are needed from our remaining fixtures to secure promotion to Div 1, which was our season's aim.

As Gary said we didn't perform second half against Doddington but to be fair to them they came out for the second with a game plan and they carried it out.

Another below par performance again on Sat but at this stage a win's a win and now we have got to travel to Manea on Wed and beat our 'bogey' team!!

Then we can approach the 3 remaining games with a little less pressure and get back to enjoying our football which will hopefully coincide with a return to form and 3 more wins!!

But hey it's a funny old game!

Morning dave, like you say a wins a win n if you want out of this division mate the score line dont matter as long as you take the 3 points.

We had a good game against manea on saturday and we should have had the game dead n buried by half time, but missed chances meant we had to settle for the draw.

I will go for a win for you boys on wednesday, but i think it will be a close game. Good Luck mate

Well I make that promotion to Div 1 after our one nil win at Manea last night.

That's the 2 promotion places wrapped up with 3 games left. I thoufht at the start of the season it would have gone a lot closer than that but it'll do for me.

Well done to all at Coates. In my opinion the two teams that are going up deserve to go up. I also think that of the two, Coates are better prepared for life in a higher league. That's because of a half decent res team and Guyhirn may get punished defensively by better strikers. However I expect both teams to do fairly well next season.

    Teilo,

The ressies this season have come on really well. Two of the regular reserve players have had to come up to this first team for the last 3 games and have been excellent, displacing regular first teamers in the process.

We have had the usual trials and tribulations with 'firsts' and 'reserves' but the club has benefitted this season and if we manage to keep everyone at the club and maybe grab a couple of new signings then I think the ressies will have a really good season next year due to the overall strength at the club.
