is it true pinchbeck are paying to play in the peterborough prem not that youd say on here.my opinion is that only 1 of 4 teams can win the prem rest will be having building/cup run seasons.but to go foward you have to keep aiming to better the season previous to atract the players needed to make the next progression
With all the money they're throwing around I wouldn't mind al!!
But yeah I have it on good authority that they are paying.....and even heard that ian dunn is on 150 a game to stop him going to deeping rangers. There's already been a denial on here though!
Its the good old rumour mill but from all accounts certain Pinchbeck players were being paid last season aswell, but lets not just tarnish Pinchbeck with this brush we all no that certain players have been paid before to play at different levels in the Peterborough leagues over the years..... i even no of a couple of certain individuals that are being giving a few back handers to play at a league outside the Prem this season. However without naming any names i will leave you all to make your own assumptions. But those heavily involved within football in the area will probably have heard or been told by certain individuals anyway!!
Tell all the tims ye no Rangers are gonna get 4 in a row!!! Bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy lalalalalala
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz are you lot still going on about us boys getting paid. It is getting a little bit boaring now honestly last week at Coates they were sending me asleep with there awful banter about brown envelopes after games and that the managment have 50k budget to play with. F**k me if that was the case would the local lads still be there get a grip. Also as soon as we bring in players from a higher grade the RUMOUR MILL does start like how much was lovers, geezer(ross nicholls) and OJ were on last year. Have any of you seen money pass hands??? Next thing will be that we have set up direct debits into their bank accounts. And safe hands if Dunny was offered that sort of money why has he gone to Deeping??? Because if that was me in Dunnys shoes at 30 years old and with a wedding to pay for i would ripped your hand off for that money and for less travelling on a Saturday.
Wishing you all the best for todays games we are on the county cup trail.
Hope that will stop the RUMOURS, well at least until we sign another player.
back handers and football go hand in hand at every level FACT! what is a back hander? not always money, but offers of work, favours, looking after players when they need support, im guilty of all these, to progress you have to invest, mine has been mainly time, but as the old saying goes, time is money. to get on in the game you have to make time for every player away from the pitch, listen to their problems, help them solve them, be there to assist no matter what the time of day or night. if you can do that then your gain something that money cant buy, RESPECT. this is why you see top players play below their standards in lower league football, sol campball and notts county springs to mind. if you cant do these things as a manger or just dont have the time, then cash in the back pocket will always be the answer. im lucky this season as the 2 main payers from ucl1 have now gained prem football, i have a small budget which covers mainly travel expenses, so now we are on an even keal with 5 other ucl1 sides, so we have a realistic chance. if you can afford it and want to move on up and have the money, well id say good luck.
[QUOTE=superman;36253]Why are Pinchbeck considered favourites??QUOTE]
I would say it's probably because of your good end to last season (only falling short of Rutland by a handful of points) combined with your blistering start to this season.
Are you sure you have had the same team for 2 seasons? Or are you counting this season as one of those two? I thought there were a number of new faces since the beginning of last season. I could be wrong....
Re the topic safehands, harbs, raph & Al have been discussing I see both sides to the argument. Of course every team wants to do well, otherwise why bother giving up your Saturday and paying for the privilege. But every team is not likely to say they aim to win the league each year, because they realise their own limitations. I dont consider that Crowland will win the league this year, but it doesn't mean we will be trying any less to win each game.
Some teams know at the start of the season that they will be involved in a relegation battle, but it doesn't mean they put any less effort in. They merely need to ensure they win the games against the teams around them and do their best to take points off the teams at the top. Remember, someone always has to finish bottom, which would never be by choice.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to our 1st home game today. Aiming to build on last week's clean sheet. Apparently not a single clean sheet last year so already an improvement! lol
Good luck to everyone, a lovely looking day for football

alright guys..well it seems like Pinchbeck are causing a bit of stir with regards to paying players. I don't know for sure if thats the case but what I do know is that Pinchbeck are now reaping the rewards of investing in youth when they were struggling. A lot of you are well aware that Pinchbeck were the whipping boys of the league 6 years when they had a team full of 16, 17 and 18 year olds. A lot of these lads are still there, and now you see Pinchbeck gaining from their experience of playing together. Yes they have added a few more to the mix, but these are only players who have played in the P'boro prem before minus 1 or 2. Plus there are 3 or 4 players in their starting line up who have made the step up from their reserve team. So you have to give their manager credit for sticking to his guns with youth.
Agreed Dirk, I remember always thinking when Perkins had to play them, this should be 3 points today.
They had loads of youngsters and it is great to see that they are still all together.
So not only experience now but the on and off field connection.
