what can i say, tough start & with a makeshift team to! there's a lot to develop in the reserves as can clearly be seen. lets just say we lost convincingly!
But away from the negative result & letting down of players at last minute we did play football in spats.
PNS had very strong team & it showed that they also had great experience, we had very young team out & again inexperience showed. I didnt have to much involvement as i havent seen any of the boys play or train (due to weather) before. So rick picked the team & gave me great info on who's who. I could see from kick off that there are 2 or 3 that have potential, others maybe were there to make up numbers?
If im honest i possibly need 4 good players maybe 2 or 3 squad players as well. there is some hard work to be done on & off the feild to turn it around but im more than confident i can get them playing football in the right way & start winning.
Look forward to it Macca. I have played for and against teams much worse in that division and it will be a travesty if we're relegated. We win our games in-hand and we get out of the bottom three, then we can build from that. We have to beat Bourne Town Reserves again in January and then beat Northampton Spencer Res home and away; although they managed to beat Bourne yesterday too.
At this time of the year with first team games called-off, you never know who will be playing for reserve teams, but if you don't put the effort in or do the simple things that are asked of you like tracking men and marking tightly; then you'll always be in trouble.
It was obvious from the kick off we are behind in many areas of the pitch. mentally we are weak in football tactics & controling of a game in the right areas. marking was poor & yourself & tim got caught up trying to kick people rather than win the ball.
Back to basics & develop a wining mentality, but i will demand we play football in the right manor & in the right frame of mind & with the right amount of effort from the players & management create a style that will win us many ploudits.
Been off work all week ill Macca and tried my best, will be back to full-fitness next week I hope.
Thanks Ces, knew I could count on youHappy birthday by the way!
Macca - unlucky in your 1st game by the sounds of it?? Scoreline maybe a reflection as you say of a lot of youngs players in your side, plus pns 1st teamers along with lads that have a fair amount of experience.
But 1st game in your charge and your questioning some of the lads commitment ( others maybe were there to make up numbers? ), may not go down well with 1 or 2 of them, especially if they have been there a while???
How ever, i am sure you will do well and i hope you do!!

I don't think anybody associated with either club could say that we were unlucky Jimmy, we were comprehensively beaten by a team that were in better nick on the day and didn't make silly errors or turn up just to make-up the numbers.
It's not the end of the world by any means though and just a bad day at the office.
Moved again Raph?! You are worse than Carlos Tevez!
Rapha - hence the ??? after i said unkucky...
Always going to be a tough game if your opponents 1st team havent got a game at that level, especially if your team is full of inexperienced youngsters, thats were you older lads have to step your game up and lead by example.
I know you wernt well rapha, which may have had a reflection on the scoreline lol

I said maybe some were there to make up the numbers! As i said i havent had any chance to see them in training or in a match.
But after speaking with rick before the game i knew there was a few regulars missing. thats what i ment by making up the numbers, not that they arent good enough
There were 11 of us and it was just a bad game. No drama, just rather it wouldn't have happened against a local side! I should have been honest and said that I wasn't feeling well, but in the warm-up I came through okay. The first 15 I was fine too, but I caught an accidental elbow in the face from Ali Nyiang and suffered from a bit of concussion. A couple of times I went to head the ball and couldn't choose which one of the two I was seeing to head! It came straight over my head on more than one occasion. Made it to half time after some smelling salts, but after kick-off I couldn't stop throwing up. It was 5-2 when I went off anyway.
The point is, it's one bad game and we have a lot of the season still to go, plus games in-hand to get through and are still in a couple of cups, so no drama.
Justin, I moved because Al offered me a small cottage in Huntingdon, plus their training is much better. I work in Huntingdon and live 15 mins away; my missus is due in March, so it was the sensible thing to do. Over the moon that I made the change and will pay each user on here £5 if I move again . . . feel like I am home now.
Should have made the move when I spoke with Al pre-season after the Mick Belson Cup, now I look like William Gallas!
Have been at Hunts since November, just not been shouting about it.
Rapha - whats the point on you being in huntingdon if your misses is due in ' march . lol
Seriously though i am sure macca will get things turned round there, he is a great bloke and a good friend, so all the best buddy

Is that a Fenland joke Jimmy? Did you get your Jimmy Carr Christmas DVD early? haha!
I think were all missing the big picture here saturdays result was not a big deal, as i said convincingly beaten by a far better team & the result was expected, but to compete in those sort of games we need good players in the team that can control a game & with that you need experienced players. Its a young team & they listen so it wont take much to get on track & no-one is garenteed a start in any of my teams no matter who they are!
What about your mates that you wanted to start playing with again?
