Called up to the national squad
Its a big game & it will need a big performance, with the help of Ricky we have selected a strong squad for today & it will be good to finally take control & start the progression of the team.
unfortunately due to the weather we haven't had many training sessions or games to develop a more consistent selection but with that in mind at least we have a fully fit list of players to pick from, I am bringing in 3 players for this game to start on the bench & hopefully add depth & balance to the it. St Neots are a very good team so we have to be at it from 1st whistle to the last & play to our strengths to achieve a result thats needed

i just see st neots team sheet. adam fry, rob hughes, and a host of other top names. got told that they had a £600 bill for that side today. a tough start macca. next season they are joining ucl div 1 as team st neots. from what i hear they have already been told that they are in, unless st neots current 1st team fail to get promoted.

I am not surprised. We did well keeping it to nil-nil for the first 20mins. The second half, with the introduction of Gerard Evans, we looked a much better side. The ref was abysmal, as was our lino, but St Neots were a cut above.
Not the ideal game to come back to, after having played only one match with a depleted side in two months.
I must say one thing though, what a fantastic ground and pitch!
I am sure that Macca and Seb are going to be a great team on the sideline and can only see us improving. Like Rick said after the game, we have about 16 or 17 matches remaining. If we win 7 of them, we will stay up and hope to build for next season.
Bezza was there watching the match, so interested to see if he could take any positives!

They were a cut above i am afraid, and we have them in the cup in a months time. Great.
I thought your goalie had a very good game, kept it under double figures, i think the introduction of number 12 helped in the middle, and a big turning point was your disallowed goal. We were in line with that and when the ball was struck the other lad wasnt offside. Would have been a lift for the team if that would have stood
In our opinion on the side, the ball wen long too much and they were mopping everything up and then just coming straight back at you. Last 30 mins i thought you started to pass the ball around a bit more and looked a lot better.
Give it time and when the players get to know each other i am sure it will be better, doesnt help when people are calling each other by their playing positions.

Agreed, that would have brought the score to 4-1 and we were on the ascendency in terms of possession at that point too. No. 12 is Gerard and he has just joined us from Powerleague in the PDFL. A lot of work needs to be done on the training field and team-building wise, but I didn't leave Bourne Res to join Huntingdon Res and get relegated. The setup and facilities are better, it's just a case of us having a run of games now. Two games in nearly 3 months is not condusive to a good run of form!

Agreed, i know Gerard now you have said who he used to play for. Played up front against us.
I am sure with a bit of hard work, Macca and the boys will turn it round.
Good luck and i will be up again to view a match in the near future.

i think if the goal had stood it may have had a impact & maybe if our lino hadn't been so generous with the 2 goals in 2nd half it might have been a better competition. But with that in mind there fitness was in abundance & lack of training or matches showed.
I will introduce 2 more players to strengthen the squad & hopefully have an immediate impact. What i have there is a good bunch of players, but maybe lacking that little bit of experience in controlling a game or as Bezza said keeping the ball so it doesn't come straight back. unfortunately theres no game this sat can you believe, so training is vital for some of the boys
