Thread: The SWAIN BENEVOLENT FUND

    Default The SWAIN BENEVOLENT FUND

    Macca Sports
The NFA "Swain Benevolent Fund" has assisted a number of local players, injured and unable to work for a period of time.

The Fund now needs the assistance of all players and Clubs to replenish its dwindling Cash Reserves.

There are no overheads (costs), and every penny collected goes soley to claimants.

Goal keeper, Richard Roberts, on loan to Peterborough Northern Star last season broke his leg so badly he was off work for weeks. He applied to the Fund for support, and was accepted.

We are runnimg a simple Raffle as well, books of tickets are £1 (for 5 tickets), and any Club/player/administrator/Referee who would be as generous as to support this excellent Fund, please add you details to this email and I will arrange for delivery. We really do need to add Funds, and the sole beneficiaries are yourselves.

    Thanks

    Nik

It's nice to read that funds like this exist, i'd encourage all clubs to make a donation to this type of thing as well as make more awareness of it.

Thanks to all of you so far.

I will contact you early next week as I have the joys of Referee Assessments tonight in the south, tomorrow, grass roots at Oundle FC, and, in the far North, on Sunday!!

The Funds paid out by the Swain have been seriously considerable, year on year, and we, in the East of the County have benefited.

    Hi Guys

Remarkably the Raffle to raise funds for the above, has gone extremely well.

Ross, and Spec, please email me at; nicman47@hotmail.com to arrange a time/place to meet.

Dev Patel of Fletton FC has also weighed in with £20

    I have a further £40 of tickets (£1 a book) to sell.

Please guys, make a difference and reply here with your kind offers to buy.

We will be naming fully all those who kindly contributed on the NFA Web site as well.

Last night I was "volunteered" to sell the last £50 worth of Raffle tickets for the Swain Benevolment Fund.

Tickets are £1 per book, only, and I have only until next Thursday ,31st March to flog them.

Please, all you guys out there, except Ross, Spec, and Dev Patel, who kindly contributed, reply on this web site with your orders, from yourselves, or your clubs, and let us show that in Peterborough we do not just take from the Fund, we also give, very generously.

    Thanks

    Nik

Very worthy cause lads so would be nice to see a few others chipping in, or at least hope that you're contributing through your club each season..

THE BIGGEST OF "THANK YOU'S" POSSIBLE TO THE FOLLOWING GENUINE FOOTBALL GUYS, WHO CONTRIBUTED SO GENEROUSLY TO THE SWAIN MEMORIAL FUND, RAFFLE.

There are absolutely ZERO costs, so every penny collected, goes into the FUND.

You have all made me very proud of Peterborough Grass Roots Football, and I will pass onto to the NFA website, these details.

SPEC, CAREFREE, BACK OF THE NET, ROSS, HARBS, and DEV PATEL (Fletton United FC-Sunday Afternoon League, have done the Fund proud.

The Raffle Draw is during half time at the NFA Hillier Senior Cup Final, on 12 April, and Ross, Sean, and Al, I have your tickets safely here.

    Thank you all again.
