Definately food for thought Norman - and if a League Cup removes uncertainty over rules and brings in revenues that allow the unacceptable levels of fines to be reduced I would seriously need to reconsider my original thoughts on the subject - however still to be convinced that one competition for all, at our level is a realistic want for many of our clubs.

of course if there are 24 teams then the 8 quarter finalists could be exempt to the following years 1st full round. I have often questioned the purpose of the PFA beyond organising a cup competition and think that with the quality of people involved it could be so much more.
Mick around 6 years ago I canvassed every club on PFA Cup and got a written response from over 70% of clubs. Of those 90% wanted 1 single cup competition with the minnows really wanting at least 1 opportunity to have a go at the Premier clubs.
Biggest improvement for me would be to move the final from a Monday night

Norman I just want an even playing field. The PFA competition has proved to be a very popular and in my opinion are very strong, but to deny its eligibility for match based suspensions could put it at a disadvantage.

I think the most raised problem is communication and I Have to agree, I recently wrote an email to pdfl and have yet to receive a reply even a Thankyou for you email would have done so I know it has been received would be nice of better yet an email letting us know what is being done about the issues raised. Cup competition is a great idea, why not just get the finalists of the cups we already have to play off for the Peterborough cup winners cup or something like that. That way by winning your nominated cup you can have the opportunity to play one of the bigger sides actually in a final! As for the kit idea, I think it's a good idea but maybe instead of a kit going to a team but just a thought, if the winning team do not need a new kit, maybe they could have the option of donating the cost of a new kit to a charity of their choice.

Still waiting for definitive answers from all of the County FA's involved with PDFL teams, then shall be able to post full details.

Can you please forward to me a copy of your original email,I can then check the date and the recipient. Did you send it to PFA by any chance?
Been through our office emails and can't see it. (My email norman.vasey[at]btinternet.com)
Thanks for the idea of PFA cup winners playing for a PDFL cup, it's an idea that hasn't been aired before. Will discuss at our next meeting.
Communication is vitally important. If we failed through poor admin. in this instance, I will find out what happened, rectify and apologise on here if we are at fault.
It will be contrary to what we are trying to achieve, we desparately need input from everyone connected with football and with the Leagues interest at heart.
We include all minutes on the PDFL website within 2 or 3 days of a meeting, let us know what you think so that your views can be reflected and the League shaped in the way that the majority want to go.
Perhaps one day we can get into a position where the League can be run by say a dozen or so club representatives, supported by a handful of officers (fix sec. ref sec.treasurer and "independent chairman". etc.etc. But it needs committment from all concerned.

I sent it to Wendy@pdfl.org Due to the nature of it's contents we as a club could/will get a fine if it has not been received, which is not a good thing. I assume this is not a regular problem but it's one that is simple to rectify just by an automated mail return saying Thankyou for your email like alot of companies do. Thankyou Mr Vasey I will forward the email to you.
