Unhappy Huntingdon Reseves vs Northampton ON Chenecks

    Macca Sports
A very Disappointing result to say the least. Personally I will take as much blame as the players for making a tactical error. With 3 players not available from Wednesday 1 of which decided he didn't want to play 2hrs. before the game & with that in mind he wont play for me ever again.

We started the game very slow & nothing really happened the 1st 15 minutes until I played a ball round the corner for Odaine to square across the goal for Benning to tap in, 1-0. a very similar move led to the 2nd this time Calvins 8 yard shot stopped by there keeper only to fall at the feet of Peters who smashed it in on his début 2-0.
with quick counter attacks from them leading to Micky Drage clearing off the line 3 times, Although its odd to say but with that in mind we had the game under control & could have been 4-0 up, HT. Maybe we went in thinking we had won the game & personally I did & was concentrating on getting that 3rd goal which would have taken us above them. They came out guns blazing & was up for a fight (literary). We had set our minds on the games won & got slack. A bit of sloppiness see there player left alone to slot home from 5 yards. again the game was drizzling out so I decided to take myself off for Welford with 35mins to go at 2-1, which was a huge mistake on my behalf as I was controlling the game & there manager confirming this after the game saying why did I take myself off didn't help.

5 minutes later we decided that the ball was contaminated & that if you had it longer than 5 seconds you die & the best thing to do is run away from it or just kick it anywhere! there next 2 goals were very poor especially the blatant dive to get a penalty that even there dugout was laughing at! The momentum was in there hands & we just simply fell apart we had no shape no-one wanted to be in charge & we just wanted to moan at everything or get involved in handbags at every opportunity. It was like watching under 10's match but without the commitment from a 10 year old.
I could say it was a tail of 2 halves which it was, but there was few players out there today did themselves no favours when I have full selection again for Thursday night to come back.

Big changes to come & some very disappointed people come Thursday night

Un lucky Macca, you bringing yourself off?????????? Well i never thought id here that 1 mate! On a serious note does the likes of Lee Deene now know he cant play for Hampton Sports in there cup Semi Final in 2 weeks, As you cant play in the PFA Cups for 28 days sfter competing in the UCL? I take it there is gonna be another unhappy manager? I know this to be the case as i have looked at the rules for us in the same competition!

To be fair he is right, he was the only one apart from out keeper who could be anything but disgusted with their performance, and we went to pot when he went off.

I didn't think the old boy had it in him anymore!

Fair play. I like reading the reports but am never sure how much to believe them when there is so much self congratulating. I will ask for confirmation from your good self JB next week!!

I don't understand the point in this website at times. I made a huge mistake last week felt awful for it lost some sleep over it as I ****ed up. But seems everyone just wants to have a dig or try stir **** up, which is a pity.
I was very disappointed with myself & how thing occured last week it's done know & resolved. But seems to me that anything written is going to be scrutinised to a inch of it's life & people are happy to read into bits as they see fit.

I put my reports on here for a bit of entertainment or enjoyment or for anyone whos genuinely interested whichever way you like it? Not for abuse or a chance for people to try derail. Obviously there not helping me or my club so I wont be publishing anymore

I know from personal experience, that when you play in a game and have to do a match report about it; you tend to do it from your own perspective, which is natural. I am sure that Harbs will agree, who like me as also done reports of games that he has played in. AMB, I challenge you to do the same for the next match that you are involved in? This site is only as good as the content that its members upload to it, so I'd look forward to reading your commentary.

As for the comments about Lee Deane and Macca knowing about the rules, how does that have anything to do with this match report whatsoever? I am sure that you could have spoken with Lee or Macca . . . or Hampton Sports directly?

Macca, please don't feel that you have to leave this site. You have been a member for quite a while and it is through PST that you have managed - alongside Shaun - to organise three successful Auld Firm 'Anti-Bigotry' Cups.

If someone wants to request from me by personal message, a special "let's have a dig at Macca" section of the forum, then I am more than happy to do so. However, when a thread is published about a match report, please keep your comments to a critique of the match itself.

That goes for match reports about any club; whether it be UCL, PDFL or PSMFL.

I will be damned if this site descends into the type of crap that goes on on other league forums. If you want that then go to UCL chatter or better still, a WI meeting!

What type of comment is that Raph? I wasnt having a dig at Macca just asking a question and trying to help somebody out before the situation got worse, playing more players that were competing in PFA Cups. The more this site goes on Raph the more we stop discussions and use it as a Pro Football discussion board. How can we all work together as the PDFL if every time we comment, You question the motive and imply bullying or griping at Macca> let the usesrs disscuss all issues in local football not the ones that dont cause debate. Debate is good, Debate is how we learn!

i want a "lets hammer macca" section, brilliant idea Raph lol

As for AMB i think he was having a bit of banter that may have been taking slightly out of context, and Macca me old chum i think you are doing a sterling job buddy. You should take a leaf out Mickys book tho and not let others wind 1 self up.. you keep putting your match reports on buddy and i guarantee more people will read them and support you. Dont stop just because a few mistakes have been made or errors in judgement, this is a big step up for you and everything is a learning expierence good and bad...

Tell all the tims ye no Rangers are gonna get 4 in a row!!! Bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy lalalalalala

Macca, DONT STOP THE REPORTS!!! This site is for our local football / footballers, you have been a local footballer for years so whether you are playing or managing in the PDFL or the UCL makes no odds to me id still love to read your match reports mate....i do however think the only game you can control when playing is when you are on PS3 playing fifa ( jokes )!!!!

Its going to take time mate to get that team how you want it, especially with trailing new players and having to switch things around if your getting let down 2hrs before kick off. Keep up the hard work and the results will come.
    looking for that next challenge

I vote for a 'lets hammer the sweatys' section Raph!

Seriously though Macca, dont take it too personally mate.. We do all love reading match reports and yours are no different, you'll always have a couple of comments on aspects of them but that's what makes them all the better as it's all about opinion and debate on here.
Don't take it to heart mate, more people wish you well than not.

Macca dont take it so personally, I think you may be reading into the comments a little too much.
Keep the reports coming and take the banter on the chin, if you think someones comments are leading away from the match report then start a new thread to discuss it discuss it in private or just get the convo back to the point of the thread.
were all human and as last weeks discussion is still fresh you should expect some banter about it.
I think that situation is well and truelly closed now and we all know the score but you cant expect people to drop it there and then.

However back to the point and I did laugh when reading your report as it is hard to write an accurate report and try and leave yourself out of it when you have done something that contributed to a goal or even scored or as you put it "controlling the game" It does make it look like you are blowing your own trumpet but dont worry about it, its all part of the fun!

Dont stop writing the reports its a very interesting read.

May even start up again next season myself - will probably be a spectator by then so should find it easier

I think i will get the old Stilton reports going again as well. Only thing is they take ages to do.

Raph - I know there is a match reports thread in each of the sub folders but why not make a Folder dedicated to Match reports itself. Try and get as many teams to do one as possible. Would be good to read the action and not just the result from PDFL website.

Good reports Macca - Keep it up son
