    Default Fletton - Real Whittlesey

    Macca Sports
    Interesting afternoon
good game to watch - impressed by Fletton, look a good side, and my first chance to watch Harbs in action - very good game - not so impressed by the pillock who stamped on the top of Whittlesey's number 11 foot - apart from the fact that he's Whittlesey's smallest player - ball wasn't in play and all he was doing was standing in front of the wall, which he was entitled to do - referee saw the incident and bottled it - should have been a red.

Outcome - young lad had to come off injured, possible broken foot - and said pillock gets to play in a cup final - Fletton were impressive and should win the final - hopefully without the need to play said pillock

    Interesting afternoon !!

They are a very talented bunch of young lads.
They play some good football, so you can see why Fletton are having such a good season.
I'm sorry to hear the youngster might have a bad injury, hope he is straight back playing.
I fully expected to see a red card. You would have had absolutely no arguments from us if that had been the outcome.
I can only assume the ref booked him thinking he was being manhandled - thrown out of the wall too many times... If he had seen the stamp I think he would have given a red card.
It was a strange afternoon of decisions to be honest some bad off side decisions and general decisions through out the game.
But overall I dont think the outcome would have been much different.

Who was the giant you brought on in the second hanf... that was like running into a brick wall!!!

I suspect Mick is still in bed after that run out

Ha hha Harbs, the boy will probably be in bed for a week as he also played in goal for Blue Star on Saturday - ( hence the 6:1 thrashing !)

I agree the result wasnt affected by the stamp but Micky's temper certainly was -he must be mellowing, as well as slowing down though, cos he allowed fellow me lad to walk off the pitch !

As for young Sandy its a pity because he has only recently signed for March Town, and was having his first game back for Real after an injury, as you know you can normally ride a dirty tackle to some extent but a pre-meditated stamp on the top of your foot is a no no and just something a coward does, mainly because of the damage that you can do - so no excuses whatsoever and I think you are being too kind to the ref - he saw it but bottled the decision.

Yup Ian certainly is a strong boy - but just too nice to be a centre forward - if Dave could light a fire under him and get him revved up he would be a handful for most teams at this level.

Looked to be a fairly comfortable stroll for you personally, good luck in the final

Fletton won 6-0 Friday night... and by all accounts took it a little easy in the second half.
Sundays game was 3-0 played 1 up top and 3 in the middle which seemed to work very well for 60 mins of the game...
for 30 mins though it was a very tough match.

I am only going on what the ref said regarding the stamp. like i said never would i condone it and it was a straight red but the ref said there was nothing maliscious in what he saw which i can only interprit that he didnt see the stamp just the pushing and shoving?

Micky did lose his rag big time and I can understand why but I didnt want to see him get a red card himself.
It was obvious the ref had made his decision which is why i tried to talk to him for 5 mins to calm him down.
However with Micky running around like a raging bull it unsettled us and broke the game down and Real looked much more dangerous during this period. Just a shame he didnt have the physical ability to run around like that for 90 mins.

You should have had that Ian lad in the middle, his control was good and distribution also good, he's no striker thats for sure but the bloke stands taller than I can jump he would have won everything in the middle.

what a strange comment ! totally disagree - bad tackles I have given and taken, bit of shoving, pulling etc goes with the territory I guess but deliberately stamping on the top of a players foot, off the ball, and with the intention of breaking the bones - sorry mate you lost me there.....

I feel like a bit of a hypocrit because I got booked on saturday for spitting my dummy out, after getting a few bad challenges in the same movement that the ref didnt blow for i lashed out at the next player near me and got booked for it.
felt horrible for it when i realised it was a young lad too.
Sundays game however the game was at rest while the ref was pushing the wall back.
Our player didnt just stand on the kids foot. It was a pretty nasty stomp... we all do things in frustration... but it was defo a red. No one in out team even tried to back him up and he was subbed off also.

Well if they keep playing like that I cant see any reason why its not possible.
the squad has real strength in depth too.
missing Dwayne Rankin and Ant Thomas on Sunday.
But you definately cant count out Deaconians, great win for them against Halcion on Sunday!!
