2pm K.O. times or is it just a proposal??
Noticed in the rule changes for The upcoming AGM that the k.o times are to be changed to 2 pm throughout the season.
Is this just a proposal or is it fact? Would be interested to get some reaction on this if it's fact.

All rules are proposals and all have to be agreed at an AGM

Thanks for that Mark,
Would still be interested in what peoples thoughts are.

Yes, already heard a whisper of this proposal. It would get my vote. Only because it gets us down the pub to catch the final results coming through. Rounds off the day nicely.

Yeah. Don't see the problem with it myself. Think the only argument may come from teams that have to travel and have players that work on a Saturday morning. Saying that can see a lot of teams backing it.

In the 1st team
I would prefer the earlier kick off, hating waiting around for 3pm games.

I defo be happy with a 2pm ko, as stated by others at least we get back to c final results come in plus i can get home in time for pop idol etc

jock is a legend!!

I quite like the 3pm kick offs because from a selfish point of view, several local players I know have commitments Saturday mornings, and it is always a rush - especially when you have an away match in Rutland/Ketton etc. However, whatever happens, happens.

i know i'm gonna get mocked for this but with 2pm kick offs you can usually get to posh afterwards for the second half. sad i know! but it may well be worth it this season.

I am not so sure that the vast number of Saturday managers you have had JB would have been too bothered if you had gone to London Road to watch the full 90 minutes

Stays as it is, damn. Shouldn't have got through as we had already had a majority vote to accept all of the rule changes. Gedney Hill were given the opportunity to speak with regard to th change in k.o. time and then a whole load decided that they didn't want 2pm ko's after just voting to accept it. Makes you wonder if half of em know what they are voting for or even if they have discussed it with their club members.
Gedney Hill apposed with Farcet as a seconder. Wsey secretary suggested to me that those who wanted a 2pm ko could arrange it between themselves. No harm in asking.

Yeh fines has gone up. But to be fair, people always seem to think this is some way of the league to make money but if we were all a bit better with our admin it wouldn't matter. And I know there will be those who say that the league are just trying to catch em out. I couldn't believe that 2 clubs have had over £500 in fines each last season.
I understand rule changes going through as you put it en masse. As the rule changes are sent out prior to the meeting and any objections 'should' be raised in writing prior to the AGM. If there are no objections prior to the meeting then en masse it is.
And it was spoken about with regard to paperwork being e-mailed which is great. The only one we can't do by mail is the paperwork tht requires a signature.

Gary - having sat on the league committee, albeit unfortunately only for a relatively short time, I understand that the league don't impose fines in order to get rich - however the mere fact that there are clubs owing so much money would indicate the need for some education on club administration - and I dont mean the old "we are here just ask us " approach. I would advocate a session be held with all current club secretaries and if need be go through a check list of this is what you need to do examples - at the very least it would ensure that no club could then come back with the "oh we didnt know that" excuse.
I confess to a vested interest here - because from a Whittlesey perspective we are in the process of bringing a new Club Secretary and Treasurer through. They will need help in getting up to speed, and in Trev Bass they have a great role model, however as a club, we are working hard to gain sponsorship etc - too hard to then have to give that cash away on "admin fines" , so anything we can do to assist Bassy prevent that and help the new guys settle in, is our clubs aim.
Dont forget that it isnt only league offiicals who do the job for the love of the game - club officials fall into that same category and as you well know in many clubs much of the day to day administration falls on just one or two individuals.
Have good season mate - catch you later, and C'mon you Irons!!!
