    Default Jack Hogg Charity Shield

    Macca Sports
The Jack Hogg Charity Shield match which is the curtain raiser for the PFA and PDFL is scheduled to take place Friday 5th August 630pm kick off and Riverside Pavilion, Sugar Way, Woodston.

The match is to be contested between Moulton Harrox FC (PFA Senior Cup Winners 2010/11) and Ramey Town FC (PDFL Premier Division Winners 2010/11).

Entry is £2 adults and £1 for children and concessions.

The Jack Hogg Charity Shield match is held in memory of Mr Jack Hogg. He was a driving force behind the Peterborough Football Association, acting as general and registration secretary and treasurer. Jack also served on the Northants County FA Council where he represented Peterborough's interests for 18 years and was also deputy chairman of the county's disciplinary committee. He was also secretary of the local Territorial Army Association for many years and an active officer of the local T A Battalion, the Northamptonshire Regiment, a vice chairman of the county branch of the Royal Life Saving Society as Area organiser and Grade I examiner and chairman of the Northamptonshire Regiment's Comrades' Association. He was honoured by being elected President of the Old Laxtonian Club.

Friend to all, trusted by all, Jack was that rare being, one of Nature's true gentlemen. Perhaps the greatest compliment that one can pay him is to link his name with that of Oundle's other great natural gentleman of his generation, Bill Carter; and to suggest that as regards affection and trust and long-lasting influence, some four thousand Oundelians, some three hundred colleagues and an unaccountable number of other citizens of Oundle will have been proud to have been his friend.

Moulton Harrox 2, Ramsey Town 0

PFA Senior Cup holders, Moulton Harrox deservedly won PFA Jack Hogg Charity Shield. The traditional annual league curtain raiser saw them defeat the reigning Peterborough & District Football Premier Division champions, Ramsey Town at Riverside Pavilion on Friday evening. In a often spikey contest it was the Lincolnshire outfit who won the contest thanks to a goal in each half from John Ball (Pen) and Lee Hudson. It meant that Moulton were able to add the Shield to the Senior Cup and Junior Cups both won by their first and second strings last season.
