Please find attached an email about the performance of an official who is acting as Assistant Referee for Hampton Sports in Division 1 of the league this season, I am delighted to see clubs in the league giving officials the middle ground and experience they need. My thanks to Hampton to be passed on please.
This email has been sent to her Referee Development Officer at her Parent County Association and this is a forwarded copy for your interest

    Subject: Jasmine Priddis

    Good Evening Peter

I was refereeing a game in the PFA Challenge Cup this afternoon and I had one of your young female referees acting as club assistant for me. The officials name was Jasmine Priddis and I was very impressed with her performance this afternoon as well as her approach to the game.

Throughout the game Jasmine was focused on the game and her concentration levels were impressive and this is a great skill to have as an assistant referee and was of great help to me throughout the game as I was then able to and did have full trust in Jasmines judgement on all matters within her role as an assistant referee, which is very pleasing as club assistants perform just as vital role in Parks Football as the Referee.

Jasmines technical performance was also of a sound level and shows a lot of promise and will only improve from the extremely competent standard it is now as she gains experience from running the line at various levels. Her ‘crabbing’ or sideways movement was regular and at a speed which allowed her to keep up with play and therefore make her decisions credible and consistently correct. Her flags were crisp and clear and at the 45 degrees that seems to be sought by assessors on supply football upwards, but they were also strong and easy for me to quall any dissent, a strong flag=confidence and that is superb and that aids me as I and the players can see she is confident and competent. She also looks very well at myself to see what direction I am leading towards for throw ins and that is an important element of teamwork which not everyone is able to do effectively, especially at such a young age.

What is perhaps the most pleasing of Jasmines performance today was her enthusiasm and her enjoyment at officiating in the game, it is clear to me that she loves refereeing a great deal an that enthusiasm rubs off on myself and other people. She has a very calm and controlled manner but alongside that she officiates with a smile on her face which is half the challenge of officiating, in the fact that enjoyment is key for all concerned in he game. Her personality will stand her in good stead in many situations as she moves up the pyramid

I believe she is only 16 but is already receiving some high profile appointments as an Assistant Referee and on the basis of what I saw today, such appointments are more than merited. I hope she continues to enjoy her officiating and she progresses as well as I (on the basis of today) feel she can do, I firmly believe that there's a very good UCL assistant referee in the making in her case. I certainly hope the experience she is gaining doing the line every Saturday is helping her and being an effective middle ground for her for when she hopefully moves up to male open age

I hope you will be able to pass on my regards and thanks to Jasmine for her assistance this afternoon and I hope that should I be appointed to a Hampton FC fixture again or our paths cross she will be there to do a excellent job again.

    With Regards
