Have to say what a great season Coates Football Club are having. Both the first team and Reserve teams in the semi finals of their respective PFA Cups and both flying high in their Leagues.Well done to all concerned at Coates.

Thank you Tom. As a Coates Athletic veteran myself (my 9th season i believe), i know how much time and effort Gary Munns has put into this club... Lets hope the good work continues, never been to a PFA final as a Coates player and I know how much Munnsy wants this! Thanks again Tom. Crofty

Echo Crofty's response Tom, much appreciated. Although counts for nothing at this stage of the season!! I would like to think we do things 'the right way' at Coates and now have to very competitive teams at their respective level. I'm lucky enough (Reserves Manager) to have 16/17 very capable and willing lads who in my two years in charge have improved massively. With players often playing upwards/downwards (which doesn't happen at many clubs these days!). This season sees us as a Reserves progress the furthest we have in all Cup competitions and being in the hunt for all 4 trophies post Xmas is a good effort.

Pinchbeck vs Eye will be a cracker and the winners of that one will fancy their chances of going on and winning the competiton although i'm sure the other teams will disagree and will out to prove this wrong!

We all try to do it a particular way. Right or wrong, that is a matter of opinion. What we do have is an awful lot of very decent people around the club. And we also have quite clearly some very good players. Still impossible to keep everyone happy but we try our best.

Cheers Tom its been a very long road.

The efforts of everybody at Coates is to be commended and should be a model for what newer clubs like my own should aspire to become. Keep up the great work and good luck for the rest of the season!
