well done to both Kings Cliffe and Pinchbeck for reaching the semi's of their county cups. Unlucky Moulton, who went out to the same team (Market Rasen) that beat us in the previous round. Damnit, would have been a Crowland - Moulton QF and therefore 2 P'boro prem teams in the semi's.

Well done Alec and the boys - great win

We beat Weldon and Welford on the way to winning it last year and both are good, strong teams with a number of players with UCL experience, although Cliffe should have enough if they turn up on the day and I hope they do!

Bad result for us saturday, losing against a poor Oakham side, no excuses from us as we simply did not perform as a team and should have been out of sight before one of 4 dreadful mistakes by individuals led to their equaliser. Fair play to Oakham as never gave up!

One little moan, it is a shame when higher sides take players from lower level clubs and then have them as a sub unused, he could have played for us and then made his debut tonight - a little lack of respect shown their and not what I expected.

Blimey I find myself agreeing with Foggy! Whilst manager at Ortonians & PNS I took plenty of players from other sides at the start of a season (particularly 1st year at PNS as I had no players to inherit!), but very, very few mid-season (can't actually remember any at PNS?) and only to cover a shortage of personnel or if someone could make a real difference.

My recommendation to Ciarron, and honest opinion was to give UCL a go through pre-season next year and see how it went. He would be up to speed with fitness and bed in through pre-season friendlies. This was a pointless move at this time of year to a mid-table side and as Foggy said, was a 4th sub unused rather than our skipper in an important game in a side challenging for a title. Obviously money always talks and have been the other side of the fence of course (and it is a bit frustrating when I could just get my wallet out!!!)

Reality is that we had over performed just before Xmas and when I look back at the side that had that fantastic 7-0 win at Leverington, we no longer have Carl Harper, Ciarron Holt, Kevin Brader, Addie Staffierri or the injured Bradley Steward playing plus the elusive Dave Kilby. With them we would have been genuine contenders though we have signed a couple of decent players to replace some of them. We now need to concentrate on what we have got and there is no reason why we still should not finish right at the upper end of the table.

losing good young players from the pdfl is a common thing, i ve been on the end of it before and the lure's of tunge at deeping, it happens at all peterborough pdfl teams who do well. i heard last night that luke watkins is off back to pns too.
stick at it bart, either way you have had a great 1st season back in the prem.

Tommy, my wisdom is growing with age!

Al, very frustrating and agree it is common but is it all about money? Me probably think so! And yes you are right it has been a very good season so far but could all fizzle out to nothing now but the remaining players have to try and step up to the plate, we will see!

Heard about Luke and others in our team who are being chased, again up to individuals but I ask this will Luke play with Gibbo, Ave, Steady, Clements and Stafferi at PNS He would be better getting a full season at PSL under his belt, finishing top scorer in the league and then look to progress, either with us or someone else!

Crowland 0 - 3 PSL -- We need a reaction and expect one!

it aint just pns chasing him foggy, 3 other ucl sides are offering luke a move. an extra £30-£50 when your young is a real bonus. for the kids its not about getting a season under your belt, when you can get £600 plus instead.

I know of 2 clubs chasing Luke and think that £20 is nearer mark. Job of our club is to get players to believe in what we are trying to achieve, but it is difficult if underperforming UCL sides want or need a quick fix and throw money at someone that I am not prepared to match at this stage and that person is short of cash - but that is the challenge we must tackle head on. Matt Barber, Lewis McManus, Kevin Holt all capable of playing at UCL, and would like it to be with us. We have signed Marcin Lubniewski, James McDonagh, Guilianno Staffieri and Gerard Evans from the benches of UCL/ECL sides since the start of the season so it has not all been 1-way. Other trap we must not fall into is congratulating ourselves on how we have done up until Xmas when the league ends in May and that is when we will judge our season.

underperforming ucl clubs throwing money at someone, i dont think thats happened before has it
you might think im having a dig and maybe i am, but thats up to you, i remember this happening to me after psl won the prem and county cup, all our stars got snapped up by underperforming ucl sides which left me with a mid table team at best, so i moved on to. it saddens me to say that no non paying club will win the pdfl prem if you have 1 forking out a shed load of cash and buying the right players. the sad thing is that pinchbeck who are said to be paying out plenty will be around the pdfl for sometime due to the standard their ground is at. these are the sad facts of football in general.

Al/tommy you are are both right!

At PSL we have a plan and I know Tommy and the committee have this to hand and will deliver (i think). We need to continue building for the challenges both on and off the pitch and that starts with a much improved performance on Saturday at Crowland against some of my old foes (and who we owe one to)

In regards to Luke he is a top player and has scored goals at PNS when we won the county cup (best trophy in local football) and he is leading scorer in the Prem although he still has a lot to learn he is young. I am not sure if he needs/wants the money or not but should look at the bigger picture at PSL and then make a decision. I do not blame anyone for playing higher as we all should try and play at the highest level we can but I am not sure doing it for 3 months is a good idea for the sake of £20 a week!

hello all, isnt it against the rules to pay players in the pdfl? since my ortonians days all them years ago the enjoyment of playing football, paying subs having fun in a team on and off the field and a beer after the game is all that was needed, and all that is still needed.
